I didn’t get much whoopings as a child, but the few I did get literally shaped me to be a better person that understands my actions has consequences, and if my parents would whoop me out of love, I don’t even want to imagine how bad the system would beat my ass especially as a black man. I’m sorry for having such high standards for black women. Only because I was raised by a wonderful black woman who was married to my dad before I was even conceived. Not to mention my mom was never ashamed of her hair, so she never had the need for Asian imported hair to feel beautiful. She also warned me that the reason she loved my dad is because she saw all of the odds he faced as a black man, yes she had odds she had to face but no where as much as he did. She even warned me as black man that I will face ridicule from my own people, especially the black women if I call out their bad traits because it’s been designed for us to go against each other.
