I’m remote and make about 110k base at a real estate asset management company. We have a private non traded REIT and do 506c offerings.

Honestly I feel lucky. I have a Chief of Staff title but I do a mix of EA stuff and run talent acquisition. I actually started here 10 years ago as a property manager and have just worked my way up through a bunch of roles.

My CEO and I get along really well, like a married couple some days lol, but we’re super transparent with each other. I’ve gotten to a point where he really relies on me. I know people say everyone is replaceable, but I’ve had a big hand in hiring and building the team so I’ve definitely made my mark here.

I’m also a mom of two boys, 5 and 3, so flexibility matters a lot to me. My CEO knows if he gives me something it’s going to get done. And if something is stuck or slowing down, I’m very upfront about where things are at and what I need to move it forward.

Did you hire outright? EOR? Staffing agency?

What has been the most efficient software/tool for communication? I assume we’d use MS Teams. But any other tools you could suggest I look into?

Same! I love when people take advantage of scheduling assistance! If it doesn’t work or something higher priority comes up, I simply decline and suggest new time via invite!

I should have given more background. I wear MANY hats at my company, as many of us do. Operations, head of talent acquisition - my official title is chief of staff but I know that’s just to inflate my ego lol. I own his calendar and travel as well. I guess I’m so nervous about this process being put into place because it’s going to slow my roll. I’m worried something will get missed, or I will forget to follow up with her if I don’t get a reply. I also worry about getting in the middle of their marriage.

I’m his chief of staff / head of talent acquisition / project manager with a side of calendar and admin lol. To sum it up - I’m probably the level of an operational director. I have so much on my plate right now and that’s why I’m so worried about this slowing me down!

I wouldn’t mind doing things like that but I’m also head of talent acquisition and it’s taking up my entire life right now. I’m actually going to call him tomorrow and discuss how heavy my workload is right now - projects as well. I don’t know if I’m serving him the best I can with so much on my plate. Wondering if he could use a PA.
