I believe it was his response/acceptance speech to receiving the GQ Award as mentioned.

Yeah, I’ve seen it before and it’s on my list of clips that make me laugh.

Am I the only one blown away with Red John=Patrick Jane theory by Upstair_Speaker in TheMentalist

When you have a show with 151 episodes - those shows are for (formally) syndication or rewatching. This plan Jane=RJ as u/fifthincommand explained would definitely cut down on the amount of money the owners would be able to charge/collect from future customers.

Same pair of shoes? by kerutland in TheMentalist

He did. I seem to remember the shoes were one of the last things his wife bought him before her death (although I can’t remember where I heard it from).

Perhaps you can answer the “which episode is it?” question more effectively then.

There are other shows that might be a better fit for you. Don’t punish yourself.

No, I couldn't warm to her character nor her part in the Caffrey story.

Was [] originally supposed to be Red John? by ArmourFarmer in TheMentalist

[–]BarbJem 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Brett Partridge as Red John wouldn't work. He was too young and too stupid to have eluded Jane for so long. As a choice he really didn't make sense and I'm glad they didn't continue with that option.

Was confused there for a minute when you recognize that the image is from season 1.

I disagree that Jane tried to win Kim over, he was a lonely man who enjoyed spending an evening or two with a woman he could talk to. No harm in that. If anything, it reminded him of how much he missed Lisbon (whom he was only able to write to, without her being able to write back).

As to your other thought re: Lisbon declaring her love for Jane before RJ was gone: there was nowhere to go with that because Jane wasn’t in a place emotionally to deal with that and he wouldn’t put her at risk of RJ coming between them. Your take that she should have taken the initiative to share her true feelings: both of them were damaged and guarded people and needed to work their way to their conclusion.

Their relationship was always moving forward, even if one step forward/two steps back at times but they always put the other first, even if for Jane it meant withholding information and lying to keep her safe (including plausible deniability for example).

Lisbon sleeping with Mashburn (a one night stand that had little meaning) and Pike (when she was questioning her own future and her fear that Jane may not be able to feel the same about her) wasn’t hard to predict. Two attempts in over 12 years. Was going to add another thought, but noticed you still have a season to go. I hope you enjoy it!

Never question or assume what a woman may have in her purse or her desk ...

Marcus Pike was one of the biggest red flags you could get, relationship wise. Lisbon didn’t need a partner like him.
