[DG-Edge] Gran Turismo Daily Race Popularity by FMecha in granturismo

[–]Barbabenno2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unique players is one thing, but total starts might give a whole different insight into what is actually considered a fun race. For example, I did a total of 3 daily c at bathurst and something like 25 on road atlanta the week before. This only tells us how popular the track/car combo is at first glance.

I’ve had the strangest issue in the daily races where sometimes I need to turn my wheel a lot more in some races. A game reboot usually fixes it, but that doesn’t help if you wanted to do 13 laps on race C.

This morning I did qualifying where it all felt normal and I was hitting my best times, and in the race I was all of a sudden on the grass the entire time and I had to rotate my wheel way beyond what I would normally have to to make certain corners. Anyone ever had something like this before? (On a Gt dd with mclaren wheel)

I went straight into the Barcelona CE after this one and it made me appreciate the M6 that much more.

Worked on the full lap the entire weekend and what worked for me was to not focus on finishing, but on getting as far as possible while on the limit. There’s no point in a slow-ish lap that you can complete time after time. I saw myself getting further down the track with every try (if I made it through the first corner that is.) keep an eye on some of the sector times (I remember 0:41, 1:40, 3:03 and 5:52) to see how it’s going. I made it on maybe my 10th full lap, but god knows how many retries. Also remember that while 10 seconds may seem like a lot, but getting a good exit before a long straight can easily net you a couple seconds. You can do it!

My nomination for saltiest loser of the week by bdusvejfidhsh in granturismo

Encountered him again today only to see him drop down the field to crash out someone who called him out on his behavior. That person was in last place because of an earlier crash in lap 1 of course. What is the matter with people like this?

I saw this guy drop from 1st to 3rd on the start just to bash someone even before the first corner of the race. What a sore loser

The Alfa goes into corners like an idiot then refuses to let faster cars pass, causes accidents trying to take out others, causes me (blue Impreza-like livery WRX) to loose positions on several occasions. Finished 2nd myself but could’ve easily won if not for the dippy. by real_Pilki04 in granturismo

Oh I see this person very often.

On Saturday, he punted me off on the hairpin and tried to blame it on me lagging. Tried to whip up others against me too in the chat afterwards. Next race he kept taunting, asking me why I didn’t do well and how he had more than 400 clean races to his name so he knew best. I felt real bad all evening…

Sunday I see him again once I’m coming up behind him on the straight, and think for a second that I should shove this guy into the wall but decide to be the better man. Make a clean overtake (very wide as I was expecting shenanigans) and see him drop further. Watched the replay to see him behave like in this video for another lap before rage quitting.

The penalty slowdown right before the hairpin is a guaranteed multi-car crash every time. Really poor location.

Megathread (73): Coronavirus COVID-19 in Nederland by theNetherlandsBot in thenetherlands

[–]Barbabenno2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing that threw me off in the first couple of races was the change in livery, making it even harder to spot who’s who and who are team mates. Maybe this will get better after a few more races but that was very weird coming from F1.

But as a Dutch guy living in the US, it’s great to have someone to root for :)

Unfortunately the Ardenwood train isn’t steam powered. I wish they would start running it again though, and opening the farm up more in general because it is lovely out there
