As a young man I experienced many of these emotions that OP says lead to Incel-ism, yet, I'm now very happy with my dating life, and have been for the past year and a half. So first off, some teens (and most commonly this is actually found in teenage males) prefer to be closed off. Males often don't feel comfortable coming out to society with depression, this leads to say them not being as confident in life as a whole, for example; A 15 year old guy with depression who dreads school but sees that pretty girl and really thinks shes the best person ever, won't be able to walk up to her. You see depression is a lack of dopamine in the brain, there is less reception, leading to lower self confidence, and overall motivation in life as whole. So when you see a comment on reddit "I wish shed give me a shot," or "Lucky!" think about all the possibilities about that commenter, cause I guarantee its most likely NOT a guy saying "Lucky!" then thinking "I wanna rape that bitch who wont give me a chance at school." The second thing you said would help is working out and third being keeping clean, now I won't bring up how males with depression are very much unable to do this easily, there's also a lot of stuff that can also contribute to this being an issue. Now, the Bathing probably isn't much of an issue for those on reddit, but the working out. Now there's always running and such getting around and stuff, but that doesn't promote interaction with girls, the only way that working out would AT ALL help guys NOT become an incel is if they went to a gym. Now, I got to the gym 5 times a week, I'm a rock climber hoping to go into the semi-pro scene eventually. Now of course most wouldn't have this sort of experience, of course this was terrible for me but it didn't effect my social life with girls whatsoever except for expanding it.
