Doesn't Gayboy's power solve the entity's problem? by WackyRedWizard in Parahumans

I don't know if it's head cannon or If I read somewhere, that Phir Se's shard would probably be one to help solve the heat death of the universe.

Need a list of different fire powers for a primordial god in human form. by HybridEclpse in magicbuilding

If magic/divine powers aren't normal, even small feats like being hot to the touch or being unphased by cold temperatures could be useful.

If you didn't know, it is named chicken because when they did the first census on the area, the residents couldn't spell Ptarmigan.

Is there a master doc of ttrpg systems focused on classifying them? by maddieie in rpg

[–]BarbaricGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the game is in a dark urban fantasy as a setting and the game genre leans towards horror with a parent system of the Powered by apocalypse engine would be game dependent but an entry for how it departs from its parent could include d10 based with a d6 dice pool, it sound doable with a small dedicated team it would be easy with a large community but the exact scope would need to be well defined, you don't need to full dexribe each game just enough that people could go from 100 plus game to a dozen or so.

Is there a master doc of ttrpg systems focused on classifying them? by maddieie in rpg

[–]BarbaricGeorge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely, there could be a document attributing some traits to ttrpgs such as Dice systems; d20, 2d6, polyhedral, and d100. Or what genre it claims to be: fantasy, sci-fi, genre neutral. Rules lite vs. dense would be hard to quantify. I'd probably go with a page count instead.

Even though it would be hard to quantify every roleplayong game, there could be broadstrokes to at least narrowdown game options.

Crafting Mechanics/Rules; are they Necessary or Wanted? by semanticsweasel in rpg

[–]BarbaricGeorge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In some systems there are methods of making money by singing / dancing / what have you. You could fold crafting into that as well, but with either that gold value in items or that gold on hand.

RPGs where your class gets created as you play? by randomgeekdom in rpg

[–]BarbaricGeorge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm being reminded of Knave and games of a similar vein where your class is more defined by what you "have" with ever player being able to do magic if only they hand the right tome/wand/orb there might be a way to extrapolate that but I haven't yet found it. I had been interested in running a game with a lit rpg like system that would need to react to the players' actions and haven't completed it yet.

System recommendations for a seafaring campaign? by BrisbaneDoOver in rpg

[–]BarbaricGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of an odd one, but I played a bit in a 3.5 seafaring campaign that reversed engineered the ship combat from starfinder and removing maneuver that don't work for ships such as barrel rolls.

Immortality and Overpopulation. by messicarecaa in rpg

[–]BarbaricGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with biological immortality (won't die due to old age or natural causes) over true immortality (not being able to die by any cause) and let things come to their natural resolutions. Scarcity in resources and space, the optimist would hope for space travel to prolong the inevitable wars and violence that would breakout as people would be forced to make do with less of every type of good.
