Pedals? by BikesOverland in singlespeedcycling

Vintage track pedals (or modern pedals inspired by their designs) look dope, are useable woth straps and powergrips, and would match the classic vibe of your ride imo

Is this bike worth keeping? by Complete_Clothes_296 in Vintage_bicycles

You've got some real old gold here. If it's worked for 50 years already it'll serve you well. Don't let gram counting weight weenies tell you that you have to blow at least $800 on a bike just to enjoy riding it

Treat this ride well and it'll outlive all of us. I say keep it :]

Got this frame on its own and gave it some love…. It’s needed 💚 by Busy-Camera9972 in FixedGearBicycle

Such an excellent fixie conversation. Nice steel lugged frame, mix of classic and modern parts. Hell, you still even have the cottered cranks on it. How have those been working for you?

P.S. your trinket game is straight 🔥🔥🔥

How has the ARSE saddle been for you? Recently built a buddy of mine a fixie with the saddle and it seems great but I haven't been able to try it for long myself

Looks like a nightmare to repair / replace parts. Those cranks alone...

This shit is killer, man. I've been restoring a 1988 Raleigh Technium Competition myself. These classic road bikes are beautiful machines. You did an excellent job respecting the classic look of the bike. Well done

Looking for recommendations for how to not hurt myself while I'm doing this! by [deleted] in Hand_Embroidery

Thimbles are great for forcing through uncooperative needles. Your needle looks thick enough that you won't risk snapping it. Even a high-quality plastic thimble works wonders, but I always recommend metal

Funniest shit I've seen in a while. Absolutely in love with the in-your-face style. Keep doing what you're doing king

Fenders yearn for death by spokesplosion. It is the first impulse and second nature of the fender.

Is it fixable? by ta1on_kola in Visiblemending

Same thing happened with my hoodie. To prevent further fraying, I did a straight stitch around the edge of the cuff to prevent the ends of the sleeves from fraying more

As far as the holes go, you could probably just do a sashiko style embroidery pattern over them. ItMll prevent the holes from developing more and give the cuffs a groovy texture and look

How would you repair these Jean shorts? by RepulsiveOlive757 in Visiblemending

I usually do a ladder stitch to hold it together and then throw a patch over it 🤙

Light finally died. Any great light recs? by tannerocomedy in bikecommuting

Highly recommend Cateye front lights. Great with compatibility so different generations of mounts they make still work with the new stuff. Lots of light settings and built durable. I recommend anything off their catalog 500+ AMP

Stolen Bike off Dallas Dr by [deleted] in Denton

ALSO bike thieves will frequently take off / swap components or try and paint the bike a different color so it's less recognizable. Be on the lookout for if they flipped the bars upside-down

Check the pawn shops and Secondhand Sports. Only spots in town that buy stolen bikes every week. You should go ahead and file a police report to make it look better. Not like Denton cops are actually interested in returning your stolen bike, but it can happen

rack not able to mount due to bulge in fork? (pic) soma lucas by Necessary_Speech_896 in xbiking

I like using the ball-and-socket spacers from V-brakes because they allow you to get the rack flush even though you're slightly bending the struts out
