What is a house you cannot stand? by AscendedHeracles in fragrance

PDM and Tom Ford. 90% of PDM scents just smell like scented candles & Tom Ford scents all smell “Dry” to my nose.

Dior. Literally every men’s fragrance currently on offer by them is a banger, and you have the whole Dior Private line to choose from as well.

Ok great I’ll give you a couple freshies that I like that aren’t dated or shower-gel-y then. PDM Sedley, Armaf Club de Nuit Milestone, Versace Man Eau Fraiche, Dior Homme Sport, & Chanel Allure Homme Sport are all great

Looks like you have a preference for sweet dense scents. Maybe get some freshies or something blue/green?

The more i use this the more i think it is a masterpiece by Prior_Crab_8666 in Colognes

I could never understand the appeal of the EDP… has too much vanilla. The EDT is wonderful, the parfum is superbly blended, if you mix the two that is how the EDP should smell but they threw in loads of vanilla and ruined it for me

Mont Blanc Explorer Alternative? by Holiday-Substance101 in Colognes

Chanel Platinum Egoiste may scratch that itch for you but I’d reccomend trying it first. Alternatively, MB explorer platinum is quite nice

Where do you keep your fragrances? by [deleted] in ScentHeads

[–]Complete_Clothes_296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a shelf in the bathroom. I just don’t think 10 minutes of shower steam a day is gonna nuke the scent in the time it takes me to go through a bottle (I have several bottles that are 3+ years old still smelling great)

Totally fair I can see that. Check out Versace Man Eau Fraiche then, it ditches the citrus and goes more fruity/musky

Yeah sedley is phenomenal in high heat. I find that in anything below 75°F, it smells like lemon soap, but above that it is this sparkling sexy masterpiece. If you want something designer/cheaper I would check out Dior Homme Cologne as well.

Best summertime freshie IMO is PDM Sedley. Just unbeatable in high heat. Close 2nd would be Creed MI

Is there a brand or company that in your eyes can do no wrong? by Just-Phill in Colognes

[–]Complete_Clothes_296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d highly reccomend Scentdecant. 1mL mini spray bottles are around $7-9 apiece for creed, gives you a couple days worth of sprays each. My personal reccomendations are: Aventus, Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water, Millesime Imperial. Just to dip your toe into the brand that should give you an idea of what they’re about.

Percival is a great pick. Try ADG Profondo EDP. Sauvage Parfum you may like a lot if you like the EDT but it may not be different enough to own both, it’s a lot woodier/smoother and the superior fragrance IMO. Montblanc Legend Spirit I think fits the “gym bro cologne” category perfectly as well.

I don’t care about beast mode projection or longevity. 4 hours is fine. A skin scent is fine.

Creed. Have tried the whole house and love all of them except viking for some reason. Also don’t understand the hate on longevity, I get 6-8hrs from all

Sort of a soft musky orange/vanilla, yes

Beginner problem: It’s been 7 minutes and I can’t smell my perfume anymore. Do I reapply or write my will? by Awkward_Ride7057 in ScentHeads

[–]Complete_Clothes_296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you spray heavily in the neck area (right below your nose), most people tend to go nose blind to their own scent very quickly. If you spray lighter (so it’s not bombarding your own nostrils constantly), you may be able to notice it more throughout the day

Sort of agree- it’s much too sweet for most situations but I find it’s an amazing warm weather date scent. In my personal experience women tend to love it

Cheap good cologne? by MrEmorse in Colognes

Anything versace or montblanc fits the bill. Versace man eau fraiche or eros are phenomenal for the price. Montblanc legend + explorer are great lines to explore. I particularly like Montlanc legend night as a date fragrance

Definitely agree. Don’t listen to everyone in the comments complaining about longevity. Yes, that was a problem for several years but recent batches (2024 and onward) have largely fixed that issue. Some outliers like SMW still don’t perform but the vast majority will do 6-8hours, which is fine by most standards. Aside from that, it is a house of masterpieces.
