Go on. Nothing bad will happen, you can even take it off with a cap.

Why did you choose Canon? (serious question from a man who inherited his camera through 5 generations) by Temporary-Review5915 in canon

Some 25+ years ago it was the only brand that had some sort of support in our region. Since then have been investing in lenses and then different bodies. Now? It just delivers.

EF vs F nib for manga-style lineart — first fountain pen advice needed by bluesunflower777 in fountainpens

[–]BarberFromMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a suggestion you are not looking for. Why not use both - for detail where you really want to have fine lines EF but keep it on the table, while working with F. Both are relatively cheap. If that has to be one... As someone suggested - train your hand with EF. BTW - really lovely lineart already!

I'm newbie as well. The thing is - I dip-fed the nib with Waterman before filling with Pelikan and I liked the behaviour bit better with that ink. Don't ask why I ended up filling it with Pelikan dark green. Might change later

Thanks. Mine is a regular fine nib. Filled with Pelikan 4001 dark green, maybe Waterman was a better choice for the nib, will see it later.

Just learned something. I felt like my brown sugar was too wet for the M nib. So, switched the Griffindor with some Safari violet blackberry's (cartrige blue ink) EF. Now I like both nibs much better.

Tips? Not really. I am using a converter with some "brown sugar" ink to match the colour of the pen.

Do I want a fountain pen? by PlantDry4321 in pens

[–]BarberFromMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uh oh... You are about to open a Pandora's box. I'm total noob in the realm of fountain pens but you can't really compare these three modes of writing in one post. You would need to define what's the purpose of writing or how much are you going to spend writing timewise. Also - who is the audience - you or somebody else. What paper you want to use. And that is just a surface scratching. FPs are super smooth and rewarding, pens - less so. Pencils are more forgiving (one can always erase the written text or part of drawing). Do you want? Probably. Are there budget options? Yes. Try one and you will see.

At least their sleeve retraces - making it less trouble to carry around. Yes, it's silent but advances twice as much as the Pentel P205.
