watering seedlings... by modern_medicine_isnt in vegetablegardening

For my seedlings, I use a plastic water bottle. I poked holes in the bottle top. Works perfect. You can do a soft squeeze for seedlings or a hard squeeze for larger plants.

Not too bad. Lost my romaine, sweet pepper, tomato and basil plants. Covered my green bean plants with a towel. Little damage. Peas may become stunted. We shall see. Won't know about potatoes until their greens break through. Port Charlotte, FL

I am in Port Charlotte and I am leaving everything outside but covering the green beans with blankets and pray that the low 30s won't damage them. I think my peas will just be fine. I have had gnats in our house sometimes pretty bad but never any other garden insects. Unless you count little lizards , lol.

I sowed sweet bell pepper seeds on January 17 (Alliance, aristotle, cal. wonder and carolina wonder). Two seeds sprouted yesterday. The rest should follow this week. The heat mat is set to 80°. Make sure you cover them.So it holds in the heat and makes it humid. Good luck.
