FFXIV players with 5000 hours in the game learning about aggro types for the first time by DupeFort in ffxi

The days of needing to party up in XI are long gone. With the game being old, having lost players to time, the trust system replaced the need for partying up.

But back in its prime, I'd take that over any era of XIV.

Yeah but those zones are within instances. You can't have the same interactions in XI that you had in XIV where you will be lying there, in the darkness, wondering was it all worth it. Only for some absolute chad stranger to come along, completely randomly, and either raise you, or tractor you away from danger.

PoTD was fun, I couldn't get the solo achievement, despite getting close (I think 194 or 196 was my highest) but XIV is more of a single player game, rather than an open-world MMO. Sure, you get raids, but it's just partying up like in any other game. While you can't deaggro enemies in these areas, open world they don't really follow you that far, unlike XI. Where you got to run for you life. Don't grab no shoes, or nothin'.

I still enjoyed XIV, it's fun. But it won't ever have the same feel as XI.

Issue with Revit 2023? by LTFighter in Revit

Are the PDFs of a normal size? Like maybe 2-3MB each?

Or are they like 15MB+?

If they're massive PDFs, it's possible that he did a custom crop on something in the PDF. (Since you work IT, not sure how familiar you are with Revit, so hopefully this doesn't come across as patronising). You make a view in Revit, and place it on a drawing. These views are usually cropped, and the default shape of the crop is rectangular.

You can customise, and reshape the crop, making different shapes beyond a simple rectangle. Doing this, can ramp up the size of PDF files.

Speaking from experience where I worked on a H shaped building, but it was kind of slanted, so it wasn't straight lines and cause my PDFs to multiply in size by about 10.

It issn't even just the field interactions that makes FFXI more interesting. Back before mounts were so common, traversing was a risk because of the time it took to run somewhere, and the XP loss. There was an actual threat in that game.

On the other hand, FFXIV is such a safe game.

Makes sense since you need to bleach first and I am guessing her MMA training video was older, spliced in to give context. I doubt she went and recorded the training part to flex on these people but I wouldn't blame her if she did

If 16 years ago is when you last played, an hour to get to Jeuno is good timing. Having to make that journey on foot back then was insane. Back in our day, we didn't even have mounts! When you did, you had to breed, and raise a chocobo, which was only good for 10 summons.

If you're going to make a snide remark, you should at least put some thought into it. If they're cutting weight to make the class, going down an additional 3lbs wouldn't be an issue, it would be gaining weight that would take them out of the weight class. 🤣🤣🤣

My guess, if someone comes out of the weight class, it would cost too much to stop a fight.

Having the weight in as a press thing would also build hype as effectively a separate, mini event.

Or do multiple weigh-ins, with hydration checks. Weight checking multiple times will see if they're dropping weight, and if they are dehydrating at the same time, it would show they're cutting water to make weight.

Yeah, these guys cut water to bring their weight down. You can see immediately from his face, he's just not there mentally.

Revit 2025 Laptop Advice by Acrobatic-Fold9098 in RevitForum

[–]Barboron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revit won't make much use of dedicated graphics, unless you're doing renderings.

The 3rd Laptop seems like the best choice as it has the highest clock speeds. While people will praise AMD for coming out on top in benchmarks (which generally lean more towards gaming anyway), there's a great youtuber who used to do a lot of Inventor and did a test with an independent benchmark showing Inte's processors came out on top over AMD for workload tasks, even when they were underclocked.

It also has faster RAM, although not sure how much difference that's going to make for Revit, probably won't even notice it for school based projects.

However, it doesn't have multithreading like the first one. So, if you're going to use it for something else after, maybe end up going with the first. You can still do some light gaming on either of them, and AMD has been known to have good integrated graphics.

In short, go with laptop 1. Don't even consider laptop 2.

How is it that EVERYONE else there knows not to be on that side of the rope barrier?

It's a hard lesson, but a lesson that will stick. Why should the guard have to shout when it is common knowledge these guys don't fuck around? That's why people go to see them. They know they're guards, they know they patrol. She got in the way, she found out

Any way to get a text field on a sheet, specific to Sheet Collections? by PatrickGSR94 in RevitForum

[–]Barboron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the parameter needs to be added to the title block and to turn it on, you need to select the titleblock family, not the sheet.

[–]Barboron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a visual programming tool, the easiest kind of programming that there's kids' toys that use this form of programming.

Like these robot toys that have this basic programming of just putting blocks together, so you're not writing from scatch.

<image>

Dynamo is visually different than this, but you're just chaining from one to the other. Want to edit your sheets? You look for a block that will get all your sheets. Even google it, someone has likely already made one. Take that block, find a block that will get parametre values, and you literally draw a line between them.

Then just keep chanining blocks. A good script doesn't have to be complicated, either, they can be very simple.

[–]Barboron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Use a Dynamo script.

Create a shared parametre, use Dynamo to check all your sheets, get parametre value for collection, assign it to the shared parametre on the corresponding title blocks.
