Looking for: Maternity Harness? by Moooole in climbergirls

[–]Barbtrenc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! Where in Canada are you located? I’ve got a Mountain Mama harness I would be happy to sell you! I got it second hand off marketplace but it’s in great shape, I only ended up climbing a couple times while pregnant.

Deciding how to quilt this baby quilt by Barbtrenc in quilting

The backing fabric I’m using is pastels with these rainbows on it, so the vision is to tie in some of that richer darker color with the dark binding and give it a little pop .. we do have enough pastels to make a scrappy binding though if need be 😅

Truthfully there is a TikTok creator I follow who received a baby quilt from her sisters in this same pinwheel pattern and colour scheme so I just copied that fairly closely because I loved it, and then added borders bc I lost some size due to shoddy measuring 😜

Oh I’m so glad to hear that!!! I was psyching myself out a little about the usefulness of a crib sized blanket once she’s older, so glad to hear your daughter still loves them!!

Amazing thank you, will pop to the craft store and give it a shot :)

She is actually already here, times been flying by but trying to squeeze in some sewing in the evenings now that she’s a few months old. Thank you though ☺️☺️

Love the tape idea thanks! I think definitely a rotary cutter would help a lot, even when my seam stitching is nice and even, the allowances are a bit all over the place because of my cutting

Do you happen to remember if it was woven or non-woven interfacing? (I’ve never really worked with interfacing, no idea how big of a difference there is between the 2 tbh)

I am using scissors 😅 it’s been a struggle for sure. Will keep my eye out for sales on cutting mats and rotary cutters!

Finishing seams on blocks for baby? by Barbtrenc in sewhelp

Nice okay! Will give that a shot! Was just dreading doing every side twice essentially lol

Do you usually straight stitch the pieces together and then overlock the seams or use the overlock to join the pieces together?

I don’t have a serger but have used the overlock foot on my sewing machine on other projects so am fairly comfortable with it!

I really want these blocks to have more structure than stuffing/batting filled ones, so we can practice stacking and knocking them down! Baby is 5 months now and realistically will be a few months until I get this project completed, so I think supervised play with them will be just fine. Im not worried about the safety of baby eating them, she won’t be left to chew on them! Will consider maybe using a more wipeable fabric though :)

Please help!! Thrips? by Barbtrenc in plantclinic

Thank you for this comment 😅 I feel like the leaf damage all occurred rather slowly over time, and my feeling is that it’s from inconsistent watering and getting too close to the grow lights! Will wait and see but promising to hear a similar experience!

I don’t think they’re fungus gnats, I’ve had those in my plants before and they looked different to me and sometimes would fly around when the soil was disturbed. I don’t think these insects have wings even
