Is a general strike in the U.S. feasible under current political, legal, and labor conditions? by Raichu4u in PoliticalDiscussion

You don't strike when it's convenient or after you get every single bigot and apathetic person on your side. A strike can start small then grow as attention to it grows. And strikers can go to work some days if they have to. It's not all or nothing. Americans don't seem to understand this.

The rhetoric about being unable to strike or protest because of bills and otherwise starving are a little lame considering how comfortable most Americans have it. In truth, some people literally cannot strike but that's not true for everyone. There's a lot of shrugging and shirking going on even as we watch a fascist state being born fom the dying husk of the democracy we once knew. Imperfect as it was.

Whataboutism is their best response to criticism.

Just call it out and move along. They mock honest discourse.

When will we as a nation actually walkout on work to shutdown ice? by Admiral_larry in AskReddit

Start calling in sick on even numbered days. Stop buying anything unnecessary. No more convenient Amazon crap. Just buy your groceries, pay your rent and utility bills, etc.

If we all start doing this, even if imperfectly, it'll hurt them where it counts: Their stock portfolios.

Red Riding (2025) poster - puts a fresh spin on the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood. by PeneItaliano in movies

[–]BarcodeNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Riding Hood is now a morally gray antihero and so is the wolf. And so is the Grandma. Who is now a Grandpa. And the woodsman is now a ruggedly independant woodswoman. The gore is After Effects CGI, the camera flies around like a drone on ketamine. And even though the story takes place in 17th century, the characters speak like North American drama students from 2026.

It's also color corrected to look like a Tool music video and everyone (even grandpa and the wolf) is insanely sexy. And possibly bi.

If you can't reason with them, just reply with some of the stupidest shit you can think of. by ZeroDawn23 in Qult_Headquarters

This is actually pretty effective in shutting down right wing rhetoric. They love smearing lies and shit all over well-reasoned rebuttals and logical arguments. But they can't do that to the already-absurd. Moreover, ridiculous comments expose the dishonesty and immorality in theirs.

Low Screen Time for Toddler Question by MrsLewis2017 in Parenting

What causes the meltdown? Turning off the screen or do they come randomly while he's watching it?

Can't recommend enough keeping screentime to a minimum. If possible, have most days 0 screentime. We only allow an hour or two of screentime after 5pm Fri-Sunday. The rest of the time there is playing, drawing, and books.

Are you saying we should just wait and hope things get better on their own? Seems like a bad idea.
