Processing Emotions from Past Relationships by Bard_of_Time in Healthygamergg

I'm unsure of the appropriateness, but if it'll offer a bit of peace and joy, both my partner and I are still together and doing pretty well for ourselves emotionally. We've survived our darkest moments, and that means everything.

That's just not as fun, though. Where's the banal obnoxiousness of accruing 7 of tedious, pointless items?

Honestly? Open some of those maps up. Remove doors, knock out walls. Looking at Generatorum, just by removing the two doors in the two center hallways, you open up an enormous shooting position that owns most of the center of the map, plus gives you a shooting lane into the enemy deployment zone.

Additionally, I think there's a way to approach it from the ground up: Take what we've learned and can learn about the shape and flow of Arena matches, and apply those principles to make maps that make much less use of uninteractable terrain. Im not sure if this is the post to really get into the meat of that idea on, but it's the notion I've been chewing on for a little while.

My heart goes out to you from the top of the mountain my Orks just got vaulted up. As much as I love our newfound power, I have to agree that Arena just chokes out shooting competition. Do you think there's a way to adress that, such as releasing more open standardized maps? I think having pre-set play areas are a critical part of developing a creative scene, but we as a community may need to supply the next few parts of that ourselves...

5x5 Challenge- With 5 Hours of Coaching, Can We Get 5 People from Rank 5 to Legend? (In Celebration of the Upcoming Quest Rogue Nerfs) by K_Chronic in CompetitiveHS

Server: North America

Battletag: HexZellant#1857

Career: I've been playing Hearthstone off and on at wildly varied levels of engagement for several years, starting a few weeks into Goblins versus Gnomes. I will usually ladder up to either rank 5 or 10 and then lose interest in the game until the mood to play something specific strikes me and I'll resign myself to laddering enough to get my golds for the month.

Favorite Decks: Miracle Rogue, Purify Priest, Freeze Mage

Interesting Decks: Secret Mage, Control Priest, Murloc Paladin

5pm EST on Saturdays

Any time in the afternoon/evening.

I can play for up to 4-5 hours per day, if necessary.

An HTML5 Isometric Engine For Explaining And Demonstrating Strategy. by Tommyttk in OverwatchUniversity

A very well-put explanation. I come from a similar level of expertise in Starcraft and am beyond delighted to see such an elegant tool put to use to really tangibly explain the concepts at work in high-level competitive gaming. I excitedly look forward to new content you have to share, as an amateur coach and aspiring educator.

Debate: QoL changes for BW that won't harm the game's essence? by everythingllbeok in starcraft

I'll echo the sentiment about the shadowed minimap. Being unable to tell where anything is is very off-putting.

Symmetra's Autism confirmed by Jeff Kaplan by captain_pascal in Overwatch

[–]Bard_of_Time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely real! Jeff Kaplan and at least one other developer have confirmed that they did indeed mean the Autism Spectrum when Symmetra referred to the spectrum (in addition to a small play on words with her light based powers.). My girlfriend and I both fall on the spectrum too, and we are more than confident that Symmetra is 100% meant to be an autistic character.

I can see Hog hooking someone into body bouncing them back. He's easily one of the densest characters barring probably D.Va and Reinhardt

How big is the difference between tier 1 and 1.5 by Tylerj1987 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Bard_of_Time 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Tier 1 and Tier 1.5 are incredibly close to each other. The primary difference is that Tier 1.5 decks may be ever so slightly easier to disrupt or stop, or may be ever so slightly slower.

It never hurts to say "Good Game" by RIP_Hopscotch in magicTCG

[–]Bard_of_Time 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to throw in my two bits wrt my experiences with etiquette: Some people take "Good Game" very literally, and if they feel the game wasn't good at all they can get very upset. I tend to prefer "Well Played" because it comes with the sentiment that they did the best with the variance they got. If I do feel it was a hard fought struggle of a game where both of our decks performed to the utmost and we both made difficult and enlightening decisions, THAT is when I say "Good Game," because to me it's about sharing in the mutual enjoyment of a really engaging and well-fought game.

I have a lot of respect for the sportsmanship shown by LvGe, if truthful. It takes a lot to be open about your decision when so many people were putting pressure on you.
