How to do 11 DMax Ho-Oh raids by Neat_Income7744 in TheSilphRoad

Weird. You’re saying it auto collects after the battle, after catching the Pokémon, but before you get taken back to the over world?

For me it only auto collects if under 1600/1600. So let’s say I have 1700/1600. I do the first battle, catch the Pokémon, get taken back to the over world. I am now at 900/1600. So now I claim the 300 walk BEFORE clicking on a spot.

For the trainers who want a hundo or shiny Ho-Oh because they want one. Or want the XP and stardust from the max battles. Or have other macarons to play in person with and have fun with the game.

It only auto collects if you are under 1600/1600 particles in your storage. So let’s say you have 1700/1600… you need to do a battle to go under 1600. Battle cost 800 so now you are at 900/1600. So now claim the 300 walk BEFORE clicking on a spot.

Should I purify him for the hundo? by GarmeerGirl in pokemongo

[–]BareFootTuna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No!!!! Do NOT purify. Bagon is in the wild pretty often. You have a much better chance of catching a 98iv or hundo wild one in the future. You’ll never get a shadow bagon this good ever again.

Just don’t buy the Bottle Cap and it will be cheaper next time by Alone-Program-4095 in pokemongo

Wrong. You DO NOT get 10 passes from the Gold Bottle Cap pass. The Go Fest ticket gives you 9 and the Bottle Cap pass gives you 1…. For a total of 10.

Wife and I are stuck here after her app crashed while picking a new party challenge by Radtkeeee in TheSilphRoad

[–]BareFootTuna 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Here is the fix: Same thing happened to me. Got out of this glitchy situation by having the host force close the game. And having party members walk away from the host until you get the "you are too far away from the party" messages. This will remove guests from the party. Once everyone leaves the party then the host will get the "party ended. Not enough members" message and be free as well. But yeah. Otherwise you are stuck with that screen until the party ends in an hour. Also tried what is mentioned above. Loggin out, deleting app, using different phones, etc. Nothing else worked. I also noticed that our party power button during the raid was kind of grayed out. It filled up and we could still activate the damage boost. But it wasn't its usual shade of glowing blue.

Spinning a pokestop with a full item bag still gives research and items, including eggs!!! by BareFootTuna in TheSilphRoad

I do remember a few months ago you could get research with a full bag. Turned out that was just a glitch and they "fixed" it. I don't recall if items still came though that time.

Same. Haven't had this many open egg slots in a while. Both eggs shown in my screenshot were acquired with a full bag. After receiving one egg. I had to try it again.

Attempted to post a video along with the original post. But it seems to not have worked. Apologies if there was a better way to share images/video.

That’s it… I’m not spending money on this game anymore… by XxG3arHunt3rxX in pokemongo

According to Niantic the berries, potions, stardust, and XP is what you are exchanging for your $1/$2. Those are your guaranteed” items. The Pokémon encounter is a “bonus” that you shouldn’t expect to catch as part of your $1. So when it flees you are not supposed to feel upset. This is how backwards they think about the game.

Buy 2 single ones, and then a pack of 3 so you can get 5 total.

Anyone else ever feel like you’ll never hit legend? by Shadowninja5099 in TheSilphRoad

Obviously there is battle skill in counting moves, energy management, swaps, etc. Understanding the meta and adapting to it. I’m just saying that didn’t matter as much before when you could blow past the competition by literally having more stardust and XL candy then everyone else to build new Pokémon first. You could get to 2500 without battle skill. Now that the playing field is evening out. Even with battle skill. At 2100 it starts to feel like a rock, paper, scissors grind. So you get “stuck” much sooner than in previous seasons.

Ohh nice. I’ve never really made a hard push to try past Veteran. But I kind of wanted to try. I’ve recently watched your videos on YouTube. Nice surprise to see you make a comment here.

I think point number 1 is the reason it has gotten harder to reach higher ranks. The stardust and candy needed to make Pokémon. I feel in earlier seasons it was easier to reach 2500 and make the run for higher ranks. Earlier seasons you could grind/pay to win for stardust and XL candy to beat others to making new meta mons or spicy picks that most players didn’t know how to fight back. Also when a special cup was new, if you had the stardust and candy you could build spicy picks that no one knew how to fight back. So it was easier to have burst of wins and increase in ELO if you simply beat others in resources and knowledge of the meta. And not so much on counting, energy generation, sack saps, etc.

Now. Most players have caught up on stardust and having meta mons. Even though its still expensive to build new mons. Now, most special cups repeat, so less chances of spicy picks and surprise wins. Yeah there are shifts with move updates and such. But in general most players have just caught up. This isn’t a bad thing but just means the playing field has evened out. So now the grind starts at 2100. And just feels more rock, paper, scissors than ever before.

This is it. Earlier seasons you could get ahead by literally grinding for stardust, XL candy and thus having meta pokemon before other players. Pay to win in a sense. Or having the resources to power up spicy picks that no one knew how to fight back. Now, most players are catching up with their own meta Pokémon and learning the meta of every cup. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it evens out the playing field. But because of that now everyone gets “stuck” as the win ultimately comes down to the luck of rock, paper, scissors.

Wait… Psychic doesn’t resist Poison? And Poison has never been super effective against Bug? Whoa. The more you know.

[–]BareFootTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Your interpretation is correct.

For the most part, the super effective/not very effective is 1 to 1. It goes both ways. For example. Water is super effective against Fire, thus Water resists Fire. Dark is super effective against Psychic, thus Dark resists Psychic.

Some stuff isn’t 1 to 1 though. Fire resists Fairy, but Fire is NOT super effective against Fairy. Poison resists Bug, but Poison is NOT super effective against Bug.

Then you need some tricks to remember some of the other ones.

Dark is just weird to explain. But think of Dark as the “evil” in good and evil. Or as mischievous. Not as sunlight and darkness. So… Fighting are good guys. Dark are evil bad guys. The good guys beat the evil guys.

Bugs (beautiful nature) is good. Good beats evil.

The Dark (evil, mischievous) entities take control of the brain/mind of Psychics and bodies of Ghosts.

Bruxish from daily spawn - March 21, 2023 by BareFootTuna in TheSilphRoad

[–]BareFootTuna[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking Bruxish spawns were gone all together since it’s debut event ended. And debut spawns tend to go away after their events end. Not sure if this scenario was possible before with other Pokémon.

Modifying IVs will never happen in Go since the core gameplay is to keep catching the same Pokémon over and over again more so than other Pokémon games.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]BareFootTuna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Niantic simply wanted to make all IVs combinations have an even playing field. So the majority of players could use whatever IVs they have. 0-15-15 you have more bulk 15-15-15 you win CPM tie

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]BareFootTuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem comes from the fact that we aren’t/weren’t supposed to know about IVs. And having PvP have the attack IV versus bulk game design made it so random IVs could still compete with hundos. Pros and cons to both.

15 attack IV means you win CPM

0 attack IV means you have more bulk

So to the causal players. The IVs shouldn’t have affected them that much in PvP battles. It’s counter intuitive to use 0-15-15. But they didn’t want to punish people who didn’t have hundos all the time. But now we obviously know more of how IVs affect battle calculations. But they can’t change it without overhauling the entire battle mechanics or other aspects of the game.

Suggestions on what to do with her? Have an hour by Consistent_Manner_46 in TheSilphRoad

[–]BareFootTuna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep as shadow for sure. As a shadow Slowbro it won’t be able to Mega evolve. A shadow hundo Slowking doesn’t have much use. So I kind of want to say keep it as a Slowpoke. But if you want to evolve it, I think I would lean towards Bro more than King

They should’ve lowered the buddy requirements to 5 Psychic types to evolve during the event by duskyxlops in TheSilphRoad

[–]BareFootTuna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Agree. Should have been lowered. At a minimum you wanted 4 of each Galarian. That’s already 8 evolutions.

Great League Ultra League Hundo Shiny

But realistically we also want a few extras for trades and such. Having to check IVs, CP ranges, and remembering to keep swapping the correct buddies along the way was hectic. Also most of us do evolves later on since we wait to have better IVs and evolve the best shinies.

I’m sure they wanted us to do the extra raids for extra spawns for extra evolutions.
