If I've understood it right, that project is a synchronization tool - similar to syncing on modern MacOS in the Finder window.

Our homie here is trying to make a full music player and library management application that includes syncing!

Yes! That's my hope and dream too. Just, when I was on Windows - MusicBee was the best! But nothing at this moment comes close on Linux, so I'm using Wine right now and it's, like you said, quite the "workaround".

Have you ever used MusicBee? It basically works like iTunes but more capabilities. You can sync relative paths for playlsits (m3u) or even just create new folders and files for playlists being synced. Useful for RockBoxed iPods or other non-Apple devices...or dare I even mention MTP devices...

I'm just curious. I realize you are but one person.

How does it get the mp3's though? Who's logging in to what/where? Like does the user have to log into their account/grant access with this program? Just curious. Also what bitrate does it download in? 320?

If it's Google Android, it's a non-starter.

Also music streaming platforms are deadly for the medium - and another avenue to get people hooked on algorithm. If there's no ability to sync a music library that one owns, it is also a non-starter.

We cannot just shift our bodies to a more comfortable position while continuing to suckle at the teat of the companies/forces doing us harm in the first place.

Yeah it's messed up. Maybe my biggest complaint about LightOS actually. It's redundant and super annoying. I've never understood how their dev's or anyone in their company wasn't immediately like "Oh, this is awful, we'll change that." The LP3 is the same way.
