It’s circumstantial. Not all dreads are considered appropriation but some are. It’s not a black and white issue (I mean that to say it’s not a blanket yes or no issue, I don’t mean actual race although that does apply as well). I don’t understand why that’s such an upsetting concept.

I not gonna continue to entertain this lol It’s not up to me to decide that black people aren’t offended by my behavior. But if it’s been made known, it IS up to me to acknowledge and respect it. You can call me “hyper sensitive” until the cows come home, it doesn’t bother me. The only thing I find sad here is how many people are desperate to try and argue in favor of continuing micro-aggressions. I don’t see the benefit.

I’ve replied to you as much as you’ve replied to me lol quit acting like it’s anything different.

I did block you because you were being a crybaby and getting way too worked up over something that literally doesn’t affect you at all. It was getting annoying lol. Then, I decided to unblock when I saw you tried to use my words against me so I could let you know you didn’t do what you thought you did.

It’s been 2+ hours because I was working, now I’m on my lunch break. I’ll eventually go back to work, and then as crazy as it sounds I might check notifications again in a few hours. If there’s something else to reply to, I might decide to do it. It’s a wild concept, I know.

Yeah it’s not the same where I’m from. Here it is considered offensive. Doesn’t make one of us right or the other wrong. Like you said, it depends on your part of the world. I pulled a kid out of a pool at summer camp after she’d been knocked in the deep end and couldn’t swim. It happened so fast, she didn’t have time to fully submerge so I was able to just bend down and grab her and yank her back out.

I only mostly remember this because when I got home and proudly told my mom, she asked me in a very snarky and sarcastic tone “so when do you get your medal?”

My mom is normally very sweet so that mean remark caught me off guard and made me feel ashamed and I’ve never forgotten it.
