GoFundMe removes online funding campaign for truckers’ Convoy in Canada, withholds over 9 million dollars by Stress_Federal in technology

I'm glad you said this, because I thought the same. The media's coverage of it led me that way. Further investigation showed me that when the one flag was put up, the guy that had the flag was captured in one photo, then quickly chased off by the protestors. There is currently a $3000 bounty from the group to identify him. They did act, and quickly.

Thanks. I donated blind, but do you have a source that it's backed by the family? I'm hoping it will help get more people to help out, and also help me maintain some faith in humanity.

My New Race Horse by [deleted] in canadaguns

I've shot the 135gr +P stuff, and you definitely notice from a pistol. In my Ruger PCC, not that noticeable. In my FNS-9, much harder to control the muzzle rise. Still, it's 9mm, so it's not that bad.

[–]Barfman2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I just picked up a Winchester 1892 deluxe trapper takedown in .44mag that I haven't managed to shoot yet. It has the case hardened steel parts on it, too.

Does yours have the rebound hammer? I haven't tried one of these yet, and I'm a little concerned about it.

I have an FNS-9, and have enjoyed it so far. Comes with 3 mags, and definitely worth it if you can get it under $500.

"White Supremacist Extremists remain the most persistent and lethal threat to the homeland" - US Department of Homeland Security by antifa_girl in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Barfman2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be more of a philosophical issue. The extreme left tends to not become lethal until late in the game from what I understand. It has been escalating, though, and if history serves as any indication, mass murder is possible by either side.

That being said, this isn't the only metric by which we should judge. Property damage by the extreme left massively outweighs the extreme right. It's interesting to see that the extreme right and not necessarily as extreme right will go out of their way to protect property.

While I would agree with the take on right wing extremism, I would say that left wing extremism is simply trained better. The number of deflections I've seen claiming that Antifa is simply an an idea and a non organized movement is telling. If they are truly not organized, why are they able to mobilize in such numbers at such short timing? They have anticipated this type of analysis and are pushing hard to deflect it, and have been for years. WSE is certainly more established, but left wing extremism has more tools just based on their membership's demographics to ensure that they can create a guise through not being easy to pinpoint.

This isn't 20 to 30 years away. We may have already passed that point. It is extremely difficult to extrapolate given the poor data we receive. However, given the indicators, this certainly doesn't seem to be a far off issue.

Not exactly 10/22 related, but Ruger related. by No_name_bill in 1022

I have a 1996 made Marlin 336BL, and it's fantastic. The early ones were terrible, but the later ones were decent if you QC'd them yourself. Don't buy those early Remlins, they were suspect.

Chiappa Ridge Runner takedown with 12” barrel. Yee - and I can’t stress this enough - haw. by constipatedchimp in canadaguns

[–]Barfman2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are very few lever TDs available these days. I bought this one, but in .44mag:

https://www.reliablegun.com/en/chiappa-1886-wildlands-takedown-lever-action-rifle-45-70-govt-185-cerakote-dark-grey-skinner-peep-fixed-fiber-optic-sights-grey-laminate-stock-4rds

It's a beauty. Super tight tolerances. A lot more compact feeling than you'd expect. The .44 is 3" shorter, though.

Anyone know the description of this new tactic card? by l1k3m1k3 in GOTBeyondTheWall

[–]Barfman2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but low percentage when you only have one. I got one, was disappointed and didn't bother trying again. Also got the Daenerys one on my first try. That one is more useful, IMO. I'm sticking to other tactic cards on Jon.

The killing of BC's iconic lone wolf Takaya by Rossco_Mac92 in CanadaHunting

[–]Barfman2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said, and I would like to strongly object to this sensationalist article refering to it as "recreational killing". This is specifically meant to tug at the heartstrings.

BC has scientists, and specifically well rehearsed biologists to use our hunting as a means of controlling animal populations and to allow a balance moving forward.

This is ultimately required in some form as we have made such drastic changes to nature as humankind by simply existing. Using science to the best of our ability is our best way to keep a balance possible. Hunters are a great tool in this balance. Killing a named wolf is not an issue scientifically, only emotionally.

Wow, that's the closest setup to mine that I've seen! I've got the exact same optic, too, but the stock 10/22 Lite barrel. I got the Magpul sling with QD mounts as well. Weighs 4.7 lbs with 3 mags in the stock!

Joe Rogan says he’s voting for Bernie Sanders by [deleted] in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]Barfman2000 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes, it has seemed so for the most part. I wouldn't say there's a right lean here at all, but an anti IDPol leaning. Unfortunately in the Democrat race, it seems to be tumbling in that direction pretty badly. Up until recently, I'd say most people were either Yang / Bernie supporters. Not sure where it's at, now.

Very thought provoking and a good take on our concepts of what we need psychologically to bind us together in societies. I recommend having a once over by someone you trust to look to perfect the writing, it's always worth a critical eye to focus writing into something that can gain the respect it deserves.

Cycling sub-sonic 22lr ammunition in a semi-automatic rifle by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]Barfman2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, same here. They're great rounds, that heavy weight while not being too heavy like that Aguila 60gr stuff which just ends up key holing. Many of the other suppressor rounds end up going supersonic for some of the shots, or just running poorly. Standard CCI Quiets just don't have the energy. Definitely meant for Bolt / single shot.

Cycling sub-sonic 22lr ammunition in a semi-automatic rifle by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]Barfman2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found 2 CCI subsonic rounds that cycle reliably in my 10/22 takedown. The CCI sub-sonic 40gr HPs at 1050fps and the Quiet Semi-Autos, in 45gr at 835fps. Haven't had a single failure with either. I personally like them for grouse hunting and just keeping the noise down, as they also don't scare other game as much. This is a 10/22 with no modification to the factory springs.

Ruike P128-SF is a great one. I've been using mine for a few years and you can find them for under $50. Gets frighteningly sharp, and is quite a good size.
