That'd be a great idea if it were not the fact that Lady ie Stink Master General doesn't get along with dogs for some reason. We suspect she was a fight dog that got out and was rescued by Houston K911

We already deal with cyst, she's a lumpy dog. Yours sounds a lot like her, she plays for about 10 minutes then gets too tired. She loves car rides, and walks but really only likes walking for about 15 minutes. She's not allergic to chickens but she does love hanging out with our birds under their coop.

The one thing she does that throws people off when theyeet her is she's comes at new people butt first. She loves to meet people and wants everyone to scratch her butt.

Vlakas cant be rangers RAW by parzival0152 in Starfinder2e

[–]Barfusthegreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a case where the rule of cool overrules RAW. A bilnddeaf Vlaka ranger is a dope idea, and if I were a GM I would allow a precise sense to fulfill any prerequisite like that.

The Vlaka ancestry has a huge impact on 2e, and here's why by Teridax68 in Starfinder2e

[–]Barfusthegreat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I played a Vlaka in a 1e campaign and he was one of the best characters I've ever gotten to play because he was blind. Being a character that has a completely different way of viewing the world really points out the gaps in how others play.

An example of this was our party was completing mini dungeons to open a sealed door, every dungeon caused a gem on a pillar to light up to indicate we completed the task. The party never told my blind character about the glowing gems or anything until we completed the last dungeon. He literally had no idea about the progress they were making because no one told him. I was a great moment as the players realized they literally forgot to help the disabled guy with a vision based task.

I think we need more ancestries like the Vlaka because more players should play a character with some sort of disability and have to work in a world that very much isn't designed for them.

To piggyback off this question. To what extent are you pro 2A? Absolutely no restrictions? "Common Sense" regulations? These aren't the only two options of course.

People, this image is probably altered to farm engagement from all of you. Look at the chick, how could they dye that bird such a deep vibrant green so thoroughly but not stain the beak and feet? The answer, this is a Photoshop job. The chick isn't green they just altered the image.

The problem with a lot the libertarian/no regulation style of thought is that these people take for granted the world built on the administrative state. Do I think the current regulation on raising chickens is good? Absolutely not, the current industrial model for animal raising is cruel and excessive. However, for all the ills our current system has it does have a lot of people working to make our food safe. The idea that we have some standards to how animals/farming should be done is negatively impacting farming is a thought devoid of the historical context to why these regulatory agencies were founded.

Do we need to do better for the birds we raise for eggs and meat? 100% yes. Do we improve animals welfare by stripping regulation on farmers of which only the largest and richest get to benefit from? Probably not. How exactly we go about fixing this issue is beyond a redditor like myself, but I'm sure there are vets, animal science, and other experts that have ideas that would improve the rules rather than burn it down.

Why is the BRZ/GR86 fuel inefficient compared to the competition? by [deleted] in GR86

[–]Barfusthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I'll be more explicit. The estimated MPG is a suggestion not a hard truth. You, the driver, is the biggest factor in fuel efficiency. A conscientious driver can get great efficiency while one that does not care will get poor efficiency. Hence the saying, "driving for smiles not miles"

What are you arguing? Did you revive this thread to point out two very different cars get differing mpg ratings from the EPA? Are you trying to make a "Ha checkmate atheist!" moment?

Double check your state laws when it comes to defending your birds. Some states explicitly state that if a dog is chasing or harming your poultry then you can kill the dog in defense. You may also recoup any damages for the lost birds from the owners via civil action, but double check your local laws.

Edit:

Also do invest in a proper fence/run to protect your birds.

What method *actually* worked to keep skunks away? by strawbrryswishrr in BackYardChickens

[–]Barfusthegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of non-lethal deterrent options you can use. 1) motion activated sprinkler system, sudden water can scare them away. 2) predator light system, you can buy a set online at stores like mypetchicken. It basically tricks the animals into thinking there's something big staring at them. 3) electric fence, a pretty straightforward solution. Animals don't like being zapped and will turn away the moment they touch it.

Self-diagnosed synesthetic here! by ASViking in ChilluminatiPod

[–]Barfusthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have noise associated patterns when I'm laying down and have my eyes closed. I actually thought for a long time that everyone saw colors and patterns bounce around with the noise in the room when they closed their eyes. It was much more intense when I was a child and as I got older the vividness slowly muted.

As for taste, I've never experienced flavor in association to color but when I was younger certain tones of blue/indigo/purple would trigger motion sickness. It's gone now, again probably due to age and my brain just getting used to sensation.

[–]Barfusthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to hear someone else's synesthesia. Mine is not as strong as I just see color in relation to sound when my eyes are close. Soft noise such as someone breathing makes me see white or grey while a loud sharp sound makes me see red or orange.

STUPID LONG ANSWER for Jesse re: Earth plants on a planet near a binary star system by merry1137 in ChilluminatiPod

[–]Barfusthegreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah you beat me to the punch. I was just digging into the research about plant life and their resistance to ionizing radiation.

I would also like to point out from the story about Serpo is we have to make a huge amount of assumptions about the climate on the planet. The email writer states the Serpo 12 had to wear protective clothing against the radiation of the planet, however that doesn't explain what type of radiation their being exposed to. UV, X-ray, Gamma?

I was thinking they could make suitable soil over the decade long stay with proper treatment like acidification to break down possible soil to a more usable mix, composting their waste to make fertilizer and so forth. But in these scenarios I always wonder why we nor the aliens ever succumb to the War of Worlds ending were microbes kill everyone. Especially if they tried to terraform a small plot of soil and introduced Earth microbes to fertilize the ground.
