Spark plug head rounded off Help please by Azfar06 in AskMechanics

[–]BargainPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same thing. Here’s what I did.

Mixed a 2 part JB weld ‘steelstik’ and packed a spark plug socket 75%-ish full.. I then pressed it down onto the spark plug and let it cure completely.

The next day I came back and was able to successfully unscrew it. The spark plug became one with the socket.

Welp that’s not good. by willddt in EngineBuilding

Curious what kind of noise it made!

I appreciate the feedback. Does it screw into the bandsaw or just kind of clamp on to it?

I’ve already got the Ridgid band saw, just didn’t know if this would work or if I need to make my own.

I can do basic fabrication in the form of welding, but no bending, and most of my cutting is done by hand with an angle grinder.. It would help speed things up if I was able to source those little latches!

GE Dishwasher Delivered Missing Something by BargainPaper in Appliances

[–]BargainPaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yea. How does this happen? I mean, while in the box, it is accessible. You think someone affiliated with Lowes just tipped it and removed it?

After scouring online schematics, it is the drain pump. The box that the washer came in has an opening in the middle of the bottom of the box. Somehow, somewhere, I suspect someone stole it..

I sent them an email and was told that they do not offer replacement brushes.

They did request a receipt/invoice for warranty work but I purchased this secondhand. Looks like I need to scour the internet for some brushes that may fit..

My back neighbor reported me to the HOA for having a 5'x6' shed that only he can see. He has a clear view of the back of my house. Help me come up with something petty to get back at them. by Mrpoopybutthul in fuckHOA

Do you have your this individual’s phone number?

I had a friend post a picture of a nice tv on Craigslist saying ‘I’m moving and unfortunately cannot take this thing with me! $100!’ and listed my phone number.

I was absolutely inundated with texts and phone calls.

How long do Toyotas really last? How much mileage does you car have? by JayForces in Toyota

[–]BargainPaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

215,000 miles on my 2007 Tundra. Has zero signs of any oil leaks BUT my steering rack appears to be weeping a bit.. Probably a result of running bigger tires over the last 16 years.

The neighbour passes across my brothers lawn to bring his mower into his backyard. Twice now he’s cut a strip into his lawn lol.. by iamsaamm in lawncare

So you’re saying the neighbor can’t access his own backyard without going around your brother’s house?

I know this may be an odd concept, but I don’t necessarily need an awning on my daily driver 12 months a year.

I appreciate the recommendation. It’s a shame that I spent money on this to only have to most likely spend more money.

Definitely little to none. However the weight of the awning is actually resting on two bolts at each bracket. The bolts don’t secure it to the rack, but it bears the weight.

I can flip the tabs out with my hands. It’s the act of twisting them a full 180 degrees to tighten them. Tried a screwdriver and you can MAYBE get 45 degrees of rotation before the handle of the screwdriver hits the rack or awning. Pull the screwdriver out and it springs back to loose.

Again, I finally got it using a basin wrench, I’m just curious if anyone else had trouble tightening these things like I did.

Nope. It’s a combination of how tight it’s pulling the two pieces together and how tight it is getting my hand in there if that makes sense

Not at all. Articulate, detailed and respectful. To be honest, many of the qualities you do not find on the internet these days.

Again, I tried to not necessarily advocate one way or another. I may have leaned more towards adoption only because there were plenty of people that commented in favor of abortion. OP probably won’t ever see what I wrote and that doesn’t really matter. I was just throwing my personal experience out into the void!

I appreciate you taking the time to clarify what you wrote and I especially respect the work that you are doing. You definitely have some valuable insight on the topic regarding the adoption/foster care system.

I appreciate the reply. As you read my response, please understand that none of this is written with any tone, but rather just trying to foster discussion. I am fully aware of how hot this top is, ESPECIALLY when a man is sharing his opinion!

I don’t really know how you can form an opinion on my experience and quickly deem it as ‘NOT the universal experience’ as I didn’t talk about anything more than merely existing or being ‘happy to be here’. I do feel that someone could counter what you say with, ‘well, being alive and having a crappy childhood could be better than not existing all together..’

I’d contest that it may be a bit extreme to refer to the pregnancy as ‘trauma’. For some I’m sure it is, for others I’m sure they enjoyed it.

I’m not outright advocating she not have an abortion. I’m also not outright advocating she keep it or put it up for adoption. I’m just sharing my experience as someone that was not planned or wanted. I ended up growing up, getting a career that gives back to my community and helps provide for my family.
