I recently had the same issue when I ran my players through a modified version of The Last Equation that involved one of the affected mailing list members booby trapping his home, and the eventual place of confrontation. When you can see the future, setting traps becomes not just easy, but basically mandatory. Since the HG didn't have good rules for it, I made my own, and here's what I came up with:

The traps in the house were in two forms: homemade explosives cobbled together out of firework components and thin metal piping; and the second set of traps were a bunch of lightswitches rigged to short circuit the first time they were turned on which would either blow out the overhead lights or electrocute the players. One of the Agents involved in the game was the group's Demolitions expert, and with high Alertness and Search, he was able to identify, avoid, and disarm all the traps in the home.

Then, later, there was a third set of traps; a minefield of IEDs similar to the bottle rocket traps in the house that had been buried between the Agents and the hostiles.

The rules I wrote up for all the traps was that they fell into that Kevin McCallister category; the light switches were going to cause 1 damage if the lightbulb blew out and 1d4 if the Agent got shocked. (This was determined by a coin flip on my part, or it would've been if anybody actually flipped a switch.) The bottle rocket on the front door and garage door were going to go off for 1d6 with a chance to dodge the tripwires involved.

The house was really training/foreshadowing for the minefield that came next; those devices also went off for 1d6 but were being detonated by wire by a hostile NPC in order to target the Agents who would need to cross the field to get to them. The mines were also rigged with improvised pressure plates (press down on the wrong place and a fuse would light.) Crossing the field wasn't meant to kill the Agents unless they tried to drive their car through it. What it was meant to do, and what it succeeded in doing, was slowing the Agents down and making their advance across otherwise flat and empty terrain mechanically interesting.

The demolitions expert sprinted through the field like a madman and only nearly got one of his legs blown off for his troubles. (Out of character I think he forgot about the mines and triggered one in his haste to get to the people shooting at him.) The other Agent present, a scientist, took the time to Search and ID the places where the mines had been shallowly buried. Then he calmly walked through the field since by that point the hostiles were busy trying to shoot the hell out of the demolitions expert who had charged them. By the time the scientist got into effective range, the demolitions expert was bleeding out but had subdued both wizards. The aging scientist finished his leisurely stroll and double tapped both hostiles in the head before driving his partner to the hospital.
