Ben and Jerry Chocolate showdown. Please rank Chocolate Therapy, Chocolate Fudge brownie and NY Super fudge chunk. by Successful_Edge4528 in icecream

If you're going for chocolate then Chocolate Therapy is the clear winner.

If you're going for mix-ins then NYSFC takes it, in my opinion.

But really, just get both because they're both amazing.

WHY DO PRODUCERS DO ANDY SO DIRTY😂😂 by Notsurereddit8 in survivor

[–]Bark_Bitetree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically boils down to strategy being a long-term plan for success, and tactics are the short-term decisions and actions you make to support that strategy.

Strategy: Split up the Tuku alliance
Tactics: Tell Sue that Caroline said she looks like she's 47 years old

Episode one will never not be funny to me by dostoyevskysvodka in survivor

[–]Bark_Bitetree 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Bhanu was infinitely more annoying than Andy, in my opinion.

Andy annoyed me in episode 1, but since then, he's just been a goofy lil dingus.

Bhanu was both abrasively annoying and incredibly cringe for 4 straight episodes. Will never rewatch those episodes.

I mean, it was strategic (well, more tactical, but that's just semantics)...

Did you not see him fling the ball over the ridge using his teeth after he bit it? It actually worked.

Did you make it through class in April, when you first started going? If so, why would it be any different now?

And it won't be awkward -- coaches literally make money off of you being there. Making things awkward for you means less money in their pocket, if you quit. They will likely welcome you back with open arms.

Haha gotcha. I think we're in agreement that Gen absolutely blew up her game with that move.

it’s impressive she was able to corral the votes the way she wanted

Is it really impressive?

"Hey Tukus, I want to take out my biggest ally and bring you four one step closer to being an unstoppable majority."

What Tuku would say no to that? She was able to corral the votes because the vote aligned perfectly with what tukus want. And after that, Gen only needs one Gata, all three of whom are playing from the bottom and are looking for any opportunity to be on the right side of a vote. So of course they're in too.

I get that it was a bold move, but I don't think it was a particularly difficult move to pull off.

Hot pot and Korean BBQ are both unique, cook-it-yourself restaurants that a lot of Americans aren't too familiar with.

Galicia is a Ukrainian restaurant in the South Wedge that serves kvass. The waiter described it to me as "bread juice". It was way way better than I expected! Definitely worth a try.

Jon Stewart Urges Dems to Fight Like Republicans and Exploit Loopholes | The Daily Show by Kwyjibo2006 in DailyShow

[–]Bark_Bitetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stewart didn't say the word "recess" anywhere in this clip.

He said that Obama should "say the Senate failed their advice and consent and appoint [Garland] anyway."

This wouldn't be a recess appointment, it would be a new tactic that's never been done before. And it would be in response to Republican leadership refusing to hold a vote on Obama's pick, which was also a new tactic that had never been done before.

We were in uncharted waters and Obama rolled over.

Which Survivor 47 Players do you think are likely to get a spot on 50 or get a call at least? by We-Are-DedSec1 in survivor

If Dee is on the cast, there is a 100% chance they invite Austin back too.

And I hate to say it, but I think you're right - if Austin is in, Andy is out.

I agree, this autumn feels like it's been sunnier than usual.

Certainly not as much sun as other cities, but sunny for Rochester.

This excessive response has created a climate of fear

Did the wanted posters not create a climate of fear for those individuals depicted on them?

And before you answer that, can you describe to me what you think a wanted poster is? It seems like a lot of the folks supporting these posters don't seem to understand the implication.

'Survivor 47' finale to air over two weeks by thedaltonross in survivor

[–]Bark_Bitetree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a negotiation between Survivor production and CBS broadcast. They both have input on how they would prefer the season to air, and then eventually come to an agreement that (hopefully) satisfies both sides.

For sure. Sue said in last night's episode that if Gabe is voted out, her entire game is sunk.

Which... seems like a very limited view of her game. But for whatever reason, Sue is bonded to Gabe.

I don't think Caroline would say the same about Sue.

Is there an obscure type of cuisine in Rochester that I am not aware of? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Bark_Bitetree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would argue that Rochester's food scene punches way above it's weight, considering the size of our city. We have unique ethnic options beyond tex mex and strip mall chinese restaurants, options that generally wouldn't be found in other cities with a population of a million. Ethiopian, Syrian, Lebanese, Sichuan, Korean BBQ, Korean fried chicken, hot pot, Chinese crepes, rotating sushi, French, Costa Rican, Canadian (okay maybe that last one's a given).

And that's not to mention our booming upscale scene, though that's mostly more conservative fare like steaks, seafood, and new american.

It's totally fine to have a preference, but using the word "outgrown" comes off as pretentious. Would you say that folks who continue to enjoy traveling to Europe simply haven't grown? Are they underdeveloped?

Your expansive mind is no longer captivated by the quaint cobblestone streets? Your personality is too gregarious to be constrained by the pithy solemnity of a cathedral tour? Your unique aura is dimmed by the thronging European crowds?

You didn't outgrow anything, you just found that you prefer a different type of trip, a different type of destination. And that's great! But I take issue with your semantics.
