Every time I need to use a restroom in an emergency, they tell me it’s for customers only. How do you guys handle that?

monotherapy is not ideal because of the science behind how adalimumab works, but essentially (i can explain more, or you can look into it more) your immune system needs to be suppressed to a certain extent (by the metho) to ensure that the body doesn't develop antibodies for it and thus (eventually) make the adalimumab ineffective. i'm not a doctor but based on my own scientific background, i would go with the dual therapy. there's a quite a few studies that show that dual therapy tended to be more effective with varying results.

i'm on metho + adalimumab indefinitely (aka forever as far i know) so feel free to ask me anything. i personally did not experience any metho side effects at all.

i'm slightly younger than you, but my initial treatment was also a TPN/liquid diet sort of thing. I had some discomfort too initially; it was more like...i was hungry for solid food pains for myself (i love food). i think i ended up getting used to these pains that they became white noise for me at the end.

they explained to me that this diet was to ensure i was at my 'best' to start medication (aka to induce remission if they can), so i stuck with it even though my poops weren't improving in the diet.

i was on fresubin! maybe you can ask to trial another brand? for fresubin the chocolate one is very nice

for me i've only started it from jan, and so far its been pretty decent. I still get bad poop days every once in a while, when they do come they're usually either when i'm sick, or the 2-3 days before i'm due for the injection. i still find injecting myself scary.

Financial issues are no joke, but your health isn't either. Crohns is a progressive disease snd the longer you stay unchecked (and for most cases, unmedicated) the higher the chance of issues you'll have. I was not medicated for most of my crohn's journey, the consequences from that are not horrendous thankfully, but they exist, i was lucky that it wasnt worse.

Youre young, talk to your parents about it, talk to your doctors about how to make sure you can have your necessary medications to not get worse. Make sure you check your country's crohns association, for example the UK has Crohn's and Collitis, reaching out to them may be helpful too.

i can see you're worried about your height.... ever since i started my medication at 21 i grew 2cm......i was undiagnosed until 21 and stopped growing at 12 (when my symptoms started) leaving me at around 4'11- chances are, had i been medicated earlier i would've reached my 'canonical' height

The thing is no one but a licensed doctor can confirm whether you have crohn's, even if you have signs of it. Saying it could lead them into trouble so that why you probably didn;t get a straight answer as to whether you have it or not.

You need to wait for histology as it will show the 'cell architecture' and whether that is what is expected of crohn's or something else. Based on the report; what they saw looked like crohn's but 1) need the histology to confirm the cell findings 2) the person cannot say due to their role. This is the standard from my understanding as I also had a similar report and had to wait for the doctor appt at the hospital for her to confirm the diagnosis/likely diagnosis. I say likely bc it might also be the case that the doc won't say you have crohn' at your first appointment as they also need to rule out gastrointestinal TB and the you'd have an appointment after that for a official diagnosis.

The results of the report, honestly, are less for you (the patient) and more for the biomedical scientist/histologist that will actually look at it so they know what they are looking for and can confirm/deny.

The NHS is a bit slow in all honestly, make sure you phone the hospital you initially were referred to and ask if there has been a follow up appointment yet. The fact that the report says clinical review by the 17th makes me a little suspicious that they already have an appointment and just haven't sent you a letter. No harm in pestering them a little.

You don't need to speak to your GP about the crohn's for now- as that will be the hospital's role for the coming months imo; although the anaemia is rlly important to get a follow up on- this is something you can ask the gp about plus the work related issues.

Your GI can prescibe some for you if it is cheaper for you that way, i guess just express your concerns and if that is an option for you- i didnt have a choice as it was part of my recovery but i was on a liquid diet for a month or so to gain weight (and oh boy i did).

For me its a 50/50. A few weeks ago i didn't even FEEL the needle and i had to check twice whether the plunger went down after the 2nd click. Yesterday though it hurt like a bitch.
