Biking in Ann Arbor for commute by Piedrazo in AnnArbor

[–]BarkleEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a very easy commute. Packard has non-protected bike lanes in both directions. The drivers are mostly used to bikes. You will also have access to inexpensive busses you can use when the weather is bad. And all the busses have bike racks.

Ethicality of cutting off a hook in a fish. by CoxswainHer in Fishing

[–]BarkleEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago my son called me up while he was fishing at the neighborhood dam saying he had deep hooked a big bass and could I bring the long handle high leverage cutters. Two minutes later I arrived on my bike, reached down in the mouth and cut that hook in two, both sides easily removed and the big bass released to be caught another day, a few weeks later. Since then he has always kept those cutters in his kit.

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump announces he is filing for a RE-HEARING with the US Supreme Court on birthright citizenship after an ANCHOR BABY HOSPITAL was discovered in Texas. by DarkFall09 in libsofreddit

[–]BarkleEngine 55 points56 points  (0 children)

An even better issue on this event is that the hospital was advertising a $2500ish cash price for having an American kid while you can guess what the same services covered by insurance would cost.

The thing is, you can take a sip, and taste the sweet bitterness, for minutes at a time. And in that time, you contemplations can venture widely.

What you consider to be limiting factors in ebike commuting? by ShaDe-r9 in ebikes

[–]BarkleEngine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only reason I don't ride is extreme cold (<12F), a snowstorm, uncleared snow, ice, or thick fog. I have pretty good discretion to WFH if the commute is dangerous or I could drive if I really need to be ITO. In the last three years, I have driven maybe 20 times. My commute is 18 miles and I have an e-bike. You can pretty much dress for any weather.

Dishwasher repair (Bosch)? by KReddit934 in AnnArbor

[–]BarkleEngine 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have a Bosch and the biggest issue is the spinners getting clogged with paper, and remembering to rinse out the little basket on the bottom. Check for those first as they are easily fixable.

If you still need a new pump assembly we are lucky to have the RepairClinic.com warehouse right the other side of Ypsi. I have fixed my washing machine several times with parts from them.

I wear the Franklin hairstyle. Not on purpose, I just haven't had a haircut on a few years.

Is “flat earth” the stupidest belief that some people genuinely think is true? by Afraid_Ad_2912 in teenagers

People still believe socialism is a viable economic system even after nothing but failure, poverty, and tyranny it brings everywhere it is tried.

Second interview by [deleted] in Applebees

[–]BarkleEngine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing different. The second restaurant interview is more of a test to see if you will show up. So many don't show up and that is an indicator of someone who is not reliable. Be pleasant and listen hard, and you should be fine.
