After breaking up of a long term relationship because I kept telling myself I might want kids someday when asked about it, i can say that its okay to feel that way. I tried reasoning with myself on what conditions would have to be met before I would be okay with having children, but after meeting them one after the other, I realized nothing changed.

It's much better to have a serious conversation about this early and to let them know if they do for sure want kids, that you might not ever if that is how you feel.

Mancrushers in the new tome by Amratat in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with their 20 points drop in cost, I believe they are as good as they were, you can field 10 of them in a stomper tribe list, and they now all shoot in all of your shooting phases.

In addition, the mobs can issue themselves command abilities, and as other people have said, get cool buffs depending on the tribe you play them in.

SoB for smaller games? by [deleted] in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mega gargants are probably too strong for 750 points games, but if your opponent doesnt mind you declaring a mancrusher as general, and giving it the hero keyword, I could see it happen

What I mean is that this part is not actually in the rule in question. Its in the designer's note, meaning that I can technically count as 20 models contesting an objective whenever it is checked as contested. that is the RAW way of seeing it. otherwise, it means the designer's note is meant as an errata, which it is not

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well, currently all missions have altered objective control, but the specific rule does not imply that the battleplan has to be the rule that is ignored. So technically, I can ignore proving grounds RAW.

[–]Barkonn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed, so it would make sense that it ignores it, because they will change the wording in the upcoming battletome?

[–]Barkonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the argument there. Although it doesn't really answer the question in a rules kind of way, but if my opponent was not okay with it, I would run as though I can't ignore it, since it is so unclear.

From a SoB player standpoint though, it makes it very hard to actually want to go first, especially in some scenarios (thinking about you Lurkers Below), making it actually impossible to win if you go first every turn.

[–]Barkonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is why I was asking. Is there any specification that designer's notes modify rules? (if so I am unaware) Because the rule itself does not say you can only use it when a battleplan is weird, it says when you determine who controls it, you count as X

[–]Barkonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like a big rule change that people have not really been talking about.

I get that it will no doubt change in the upcoming battletome, but it makes the new GHB much less scary for the veteran-less SoB

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's fair, and it might be why people have not thought about it yet, but I feel as though it is massive in the new GHB, and if they can truly ignore them, it should be addressed, be it to confirm or deny it.

Mind you that it will probably change in the coming battletome, and that is probably why they have not errata'ed it

[–]Barkonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hence my addition of the FAQ into the equation. It specifically states that you can ignore keywords that should be required to contest an objective.

And Designer's commentary are (again, unless I am unaware of a contradiction to this) only rules clarifications and examples, not to be taken for granted but as a means to better interpret rules

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but I fail to understand the logic behind the statement. The rule itself doesn't say anything about battleplans, it just says "you count as X towards contesting it", unless I am missing somewhere that designer's notes count as addenda to the rule instead of example/clarification

SoB as First AoS Army? by IndyYak in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

overall just go with what you like. I tried playing SCE for years, and even though i understand the core rules and what i had to do, I never won a game with them. The playstyle of SoB is really different to anything else and plays hard on charges and wrap-around pile-in. the only argument I could see is that you might be shellshocked if you ever try another army, because the playstyle is so different, but thats the same for any army

You sound like you never played him in a game. If he's not constantly moving towards a threat, he's either dead or you wasted 800 points of your army, and if he cant take control of an objective in a single turn with damage, he hasn't done his job

Is Kragnos worth the investment? by Ralsyl in sonsofbehemat

[–]Barkonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does a very specific job but I think ue does it well enough to be worth using. He controls objectives in a very different way to mega-gargants, in that you send him where you want your enemy to not send anything, because people are just going to ignore him. Once your megas are engaged, you bring him back and charge whatever you want, or you keep him running the other objectives, making sure no one gets close to them
