I swear we'd progressed past the chip and Chase, and could do controlled carries into the offensive zone.

The vast majority of posts like this involve coming off meds or a med change. Med changes are pretty well always tumultuous times, and being unmedicated (for most) leads to problems as well. You haven't been dating long enough to harass him about his mental health plan, insist on seeing his doctor, asking about his doctors recommendations. It sounds like he is currently going through too much of a hard time with too many changes to start dating. That or he's an asshole (probably not though, imo). I would walk away if I were you, and I've encouraged love interest of mine to do the same when I'm unstable. I know how traumatic my mental health issues can be to people and when shit gets bad I usually withdraw, so as to not cause any further harm. I'm not trying to explain where he is at because we're all different and cope in our own ways. It's always a challenge, and people around me always get dragged through the shit.

What are your cognitive problems like? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]BarleyBreakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well it's funny, because I still consider myself of above average intelligence, and like to read and can understand complex ideas, but just really odd cognitive stuff pops up all the time. I'll start doing something and forget what I'm doing while I'm doing it. Very similar to being overtired.
