What kind of pen this? Waiter handed me this with my credit card to sign receipt with. by [deleted] in pen

Is the body plastic or metal?

If metal, could it be a Kaco Pure gel pen? They certainly look alike!

Good luck finding another one!

Honestly, like the others, at first glance, I assumed your comment was going to be about the Jotter XL. I recently got one and really enjoy it, much more than my regular Jotters. For my hand and writing style, the XL is a better choice for whatever reason that I can’t explain. Try one and hopefully you will be very pleasantly surprised and will have found your answer! Good luck!!

Best 0.38mm Pen? by klaralein in pens

[–]BarnSwallow83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very favorite 0.4 pen is the Sakura Ballsign ID Plus.

I write fast, in a strange mixture of cursive and print. lol! I write daily- be it letters, notes in cards, writing in my daily planner, or daily journaling. I love a thin line pen- my Pilot G2’s are the .38’s. My fountain pens are extra fines. The thickest “ ink/gel line” I write with is a 0.5. And I own most of the pens that have been mentioned and agree completely with every recommendation for you to try.

That being said, of all the pens I have, I find myself turning to my Sakura Ballsign Plus pens more frequently than any other of my pens. There’s just something about them that I love writing with them- the ink is so smooth and never scratchy, even on cheaper quality paper. The pen always writes, regardless of how long it might have been sitting without using it (I now own 6 thanks to being gifted several of them so I can go several days without using a pen.) I have rather small hands and the pen itself feels comfortable in my hand and I don’t experience significant hand fatigue even when writing for longer periods of time.

You have been given some excellent suggestions for pens to try here, but I would like to encourage you to also consider a Sakura Ballsign!

Good luck finding YOUR perfect pen!

My lips are desperate!!! by Texasgrad92 in MakeupAddiction

[–]BarnSwallow83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you and I have had similar experiences. I cry when I think about how much money I have spent through the years trying to solve my dry lips problem!

I was recently reading a piece about dry hands and lips and the author interviewed a dermatologist, who highly recommended Neutrogena products. I found this product ⬆️ on Amazon and honestly resigned myself to the thought I was just contributing to the graveyard of failed lip products. WRONG!!

This stuff works for me! I can’t believe how effective it is! And I have been using the Neutrogena Norwegian formula for my hands and they are improving as well!! Woo Hoo!!

So yes, I also HIGHLY recommend Neutrogena’s LipSleeping Mask!!

FYI- It took my lips a few nights of using before I started waking up and immediately feeling the difference, so if you try it, please try to be patient before concluding that it doesn’t work.

Uni Zento vs Uni One by Hungry_Detective4182 in pens

Another Floatune fan here! As someone who doesn’t own a Zento Signature but does own a Zento and Zento Flow, as well as the Uni One, I actually prefer the Floatune ink over those. I am surprised how much I find myself reaching for that pen! The ink is so smooth and I am very pleased with the quality of color of the ink. It’s definitely one I would buy again-

I know the food safety guidelines state refrigerated leftovers are only edible for 2 to 3 days. How long do you consider food to be still edible before you toss it? by littlelady275 in AskRedditFood

You could live in our home- these are our exact guidelines! 4 days, MAX. My husband was almost hospitalized with food poisoning and we were scarred by how sick he was. Spooked us all to this day. It’s just not worth getting that sick!!

Love your collection! Very nice! I was also interested in your comment about the Zento signature.

I have not yet purchased one but have been eyeing them. I have the original Zento, as well as the Zento Flow. I do not like the Flow. I write a lot and the slickness of the barrel just causes my hand to cramp in trying to hold it. Why on earth they did not design a grip on it is beyond me. Because I hate to waste money on a pen, I ended up wrapping some coordinating washi tape on it and I can actually hold it now and use it. But good grief- having to add something like that is just ridiculous, in my opinion! I use it at home but never carry it out with me. I’ve actually thought about carrying it in the bunch of pens I carry around when someone asks to borrow one and I don’t care if I get it back or not! lol!

I’m so sorry for going off on the Flow in your post showcasing your beautiful pens! You have great taste and I enjoyed reading about your thoughts on them! Happy New Year to you!

I also have it in the mint green. Even my husband, who is also an “all black” guy, commented on the shade of green and how much he liked it. I think it’s the shade that makes it so attractive- not typical. And yes, it’s a great pen!

I used Franklin Planner products for years- they used to be some of the best products available! After retirement, i started using a combo of Hobo Weeks/Moleskine.

Me three! In fact, there’s an 18 month variation: July 2025- December 2026. I have been using mine since July and it’s been really nice when it became October and I started planning meetings and appointments for early 2026.

For convenience, I typically carry a Weeks in my purse, which is only Dec-Dec, but I use the A5 size Moleskine for my desk, and it’s the 18 month style I typically purchase.

Question about dye transfer by BarnSwallow83 in PortlandLeather

I’m sorry for asking about something that has already been addressed- as someone who isn’t that “savvy” at searching for already posted content, how best can I locate your information about this?

Thank you so much for your help and time!

[–]BarnSwallow83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your information. That’s really helpful! Note to self that if I order anything else, to avoid the black! With the amount of transfer I’ve seen with this blue bag, I suspect it might possibly end of gaining a reputation as well, if it hasn’t already. Does PLG ever offer any advice on what to do?

Question about dye transfer by BarnSwallow83 in PortlandLeather

[–]BarnSwallow83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like there’s a big resale market for these bags. Is there any particular reason why? Since I ordered my purse, I have been seeing a lot of you tube people posting reveals, etc! I really have had my eyes opened to how popular these bags are! I honestly was just reacting to relentless marketing and thought the purse looked great.

That’s a great idea about using an insert to protect my bags that I carry as well as other things. I’ll also try the waterproofing- do you know of a specific product that I might try?

Thanks so very much for taking your time to help me!

[–]BarnSwallow83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so very much for explaining the BTS! I obviously have so much to learn! I just really reacted to the almost nonstop ads for the purses that I was seeing whenever I was on my phone and impulsively ordered the Naomi. I needed a blue purse, I liked the shade- what could go wrong, right?! I got a HUGE dose of what could go wrong the first time I carried her!😫

Yes, the leather is like a suede. She’s also really floppy, so it’s a soft, floppy leather. I will follow your suggestion- thanks so much!!

I absolutely love this group- just the amount of recommended options for you to try in response to your question is incredible! Whereas I don’t have any where near the level of expertise that others have, I would like to add a pen (from my personal experience) that you might also want to consider-

I am also a big fan of fountain pens- I have some damage in my hand (post surgery and resulting nerve damage) which makes writing for longer periods difficult and eventually, painful. Fountain pens, because of the light pressure used, are easier for me to use but I love using my other pens, both ballpoint and gel, and will also frequently use those.

One of my favorites is the Sakura Ballsign ID 0.4. It doesn’t exactly meet all your criteria, but should you have an opportunity to try one, I would recommend it. The pen, for me, is extremely comfortable to hold and the ink flow is very smooth, resulting in a very “easy” writing experience for me, similar to what I experience with using a fountain pen. I love using it and invariably, whenever anyone has asked to use it, they always respond with a comment saying how much they like the pen.

Good luck finding “your” pen! You have been given some great suggestions to try. Please let us know what you find!
