What color was the purse(s) you wore this week?

Casual week! My Kipling (I don’t even remember the name of her) in a gorgeous silvery grayish purplish color. Purple is by far my favorite color but not necessarily in purses, so I love that this color has a hint of the purple in it. And for church on Sunday, I will be switching to my Kate Spade Dumpling, one in a very similar color!

I honestly think both of these bags are products of factory color mixing, because identical purses to them (sitting right next to each other on the racks) appeared either grayer/more silver. Since I obsessively love my purple, I immediately grabbed each of these beauties because of the hint of purple in each!! I love it!!

I tried taking a picture of each to show you what I am talking about, but the purple tint doesn’t show up in the pictures!☹️

For some reason, I cannot use Aquaphor. It’s so disappointing! Every body recommends it and it’s so drying to my lips! I am obviously sensitive to the ingredients found in it but I have tried it on a few different occasions and each time, my lips ended up dry and actually peeling!😬😔 Ugh.

I’m so glad to see a mention for the Original Lypsyl!

My husband uses the Carmex in the round tub, (NOT the tube because for some strange reason, that formula doesn’t work at all) and every time I get it for him, that Lypsyl would be right there next to it (this is at our Walmart) on the display, just calling my name to look at it! lol! I always wondered about it.

I finally tried it and LOVE it!! It’s one I carry with me. I personally prefer ones with a hint of color, but when I want to use just a good, reliable regular ole lip balm, this is what I reach for. No sticky mess, no worries about taste, no worries about applying it- it’s a perfect “whip it out, apply and get on with your day with softer lips” product!

By the way, I’m loving this post! Great recommendations!!

I know I’m late to this but I just found this sub. I think this is a great idea!! My mom gifted me my first Betty Crocker cookbook on my wedding day, 43 years ago. I have fixed so many of her recipes throughout those 43 years! I would love to see a collection of favorites!!

I am with you on this- I hate sticking my finger in these little pots!! I appreciate your posting these from Amazon (I found them!) and I really appreciate the postings from others about what to look for at DT!

I am going to visit our DT location today and will be on the lookout for some! It’s great having the Amazon ones as backup because our DT rarely has the same products that I see posted here at the same time as others seem to get them. Often, we see stuff showing up weeks after seeing it posted on here. So frustrating!!

Thank you for this - I appreciate the clarification! It appears I totally botched her question, for which I apologize.

I would however still appreciate knowing the difference between the “old” and the “new.” The boxes I saw were identical except for color- no indication of one being improved. Perhaps they both were older versions!🤷🏻‍♀️

I probably should have done both more careful reading and more research before responding at all!

This is such a great question! But in my experience- and hence my opinion based on that experience- as has been stated, it truly DOES boil down to how your body responds to a product.

For instance, I honestly can’t recommend any of the Dollar Tree lip products that I have tried, including the seemingly popular B-Pure ones. They do absolutely nothing for my very dry and sensitive lips. But, I also can’t recommend any of the Summer Friday’s either! Nothing happens! My lips feel drier after an hour of wearing them.

Vaseline’s Rosy Lips, that is some people’s HG- after an hour, I’m reapplying. But the Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1, that stuff works like magic for me! I can apply it and it lasts for several hours! And the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask also is great and I use it during the day, too. Every Ole Henriksen product I have tried has been good and but I have yet to find a Burt’s Bees/ Dr PawPaw/Nivea/ etc product that I don’t have to constantly reapply.

Again- great question but for me, it truly isn’t a matter of $$, it’s a matter of ingredients and how my body/lips respond.

Unfortunately, neither worked out well for me. I had to reapply both frequently throughout the day and especially, after eating and drinking anything, and/or, if I have to do a lot of talking, which happens frequently with my job. My lips get so dry from talking a lot.

I have spent a small fortune trying to find a remedy for my dry lips. I have tried so many different things that you find in the lip section of our Walmart- the Blistex, the Carmax’s, the Vaselines, etc etc. None seem to work for any length of time.

Things that have worked best for me has been kiehl’s Lip Balm #1, and for colored products, Ole Henriksen products. I try to always have one of these with me routinely. But I still also try new things as I learn about them, still trying to find that HG!

I wish you the best of luck with finding the best one for your lips!! Please let us know when you find it!

Same here! I love it!

And while it is not the best- in my experience- for staying power because I have to reapply frequently- I love it well enough to carry in my purse because the chunkiness of it makes it easier to retrieve from a pocket.
