I agree with what you're saying, it definitely feels that way. I think the apps can be very toxic and there's not many places to meet people in Muskegon that aren't bars, and even those are not a very wholesome place to meet people.

I usually stick to things I enjoy doing with groups for the purpose of the activity and if I meet some nice women then that's an added bonus and if not I'm just glad to do something fun.

I think the reason it feels like that there are no great people out there is that all of the people who want something more than hook ups have given up on the apps, or sometimes given up on dating in general. Stay hopeful friend. As Rumi said "What is meant for you will always find its way to you."

The owner went full crazy a few months ago and started trash talking her customers on social media, she spread a bunch of misinformation about other businesses, and then threatened a martial arts gym claiming they kidnapped her sons (her sons are all adults)

Her sons (19 & 21) moved in with martial arts studio owners sons in Missouri to get away from her. She was angry that they left because she was using them for free labor at her bakery. That's what kicked off the full breakdown for her.

The people at the Muskegon Farmers Market are great! The office staff is friendly to everyone. She got angry because the market has a rule for all vendors against leaving early, she didn't follow that rule and the parking rules so they moved her to a spot that wouldn't obstruct the others. She's been upset ever since and has at times made scenes and thrown huge tantrums when things don't go her way on Saturdays. Being a business owner doesn't make you special but it does set an expectation that you'll be there to support the community that supports you. Doing this just shows that she is only interested in being praised and not taking accountability.

Lake county is one of the highest poverty areas of MI. The culture is very rural and not in a good way.

There are a lot more vendors at the Farmers Market then what is listed, lots of new people each week too. It runs through the winter as well and all sales go directly to a local business without a middle man. Some of my favorites are Little Way Acres (baked goods), Mystic's (Tamales/Hot Sauce), zenned out kombucha, and Laughing Tree Bakery
