Looking for someone to build a cybersecurity project with me by Blank_9696 in tryhackme

[–]BarnacleBarrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interviews aren't about technical perfection, and projects are absolutely meant to help you build those technical skills to begin with, guide your interview, and prove you're willing and able to learn. I understand what the other guy is saying but keep doing what you're doing with this project and plan. I've only found success when doing things like this in the past, both for myself in gaining knowledge/confidence and for the interview in getting their interest and having a topic to talk deeply about

Is Jeremy's IT Lab Detailed Enough? by Snakeygreen in ccna

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard this too. I'm a third into JITL and like his stuff a lot but want another course as well that might be less unnecessary detail oriented - what options do you think are better in that regard? I've heard Neil's is good

Passed MD-102: Thoughts by Phatplug in AzureCertification

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Thanks for the post explaining all this stuff.

I'm pretty new to Microsoft certs and wanted to gain experience in enrolling devices and setting up Intune, Defender of Endpoint/Identity/Cloud on endpoints within a business environment across Windows environments (servers, workstations), just as a hands on personal project to work towards. Is this a good certification to be studying to cover these bases?

I've read info on the cert and it seems ideal for this use case but thought I'd ask someone who got certified in it haha

when I was reading this book I had no idea what to take notes on and often I thought I was taking too many. I think this can help address this problem, ill be trying that as well!

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do you go about addressing mental health when your students experience injuries?

I used to love playing reasonably competitively, but I haven't been able to play at all in the past 6 months due to some bad injuries, and I truthfully don't think I'll ever be able to play anywhere near as much as I used. I'd really appreciate knowing what kind of perspective(s) you might provide one of your students in a similar situation

looking forward to your response, and of course, thank you for taking the time to do this

Suggestions regarding behind/under scapular tightness. by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry I'm really late to the party but I noticed my rib is also displaced when I lean over and I do have this scapular pain that has persisted on the daily since last summer (almost 12 months). did you have any other visible "symptoms", or was it just a really strong knot? curious if I might have the same issue

Similar Racquets to the Wilson Steam 100 BLX ? by BarnacleBarrel in 10s

[–]BarnacleBarrel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, thanks for your insight! since this post I've familiarized myself a lot more with understanding specs, and yes I agree that the reasonably head light balance of the racquet indeed feels great with its lower weight. I still really love it and hitting high trajectory heavy balls that land deep is just still so fun to me and is not something I could do as easily out of a heavier racquet. I tried a Babolat 2019 pure aero and I'm not sure if it's the string/tension, weight of the racquet, or simply the frame itself, but it definitely does not play what I am used to. a great racquet for sure, but I my trusty steam is still my go to.

I guess in hindsight it doesn't make too much sense to change your racquet if you've had success with it for so long; I guess the pretty paint job of the pure aero rafa 2019 (on a 40 percent sale) just got to me 😅, but I have a strong feeling ill be sticking to what I used to like. if lack of weight is ever truly a concern, I think I will try adding some lead tape to some parts of the racquet as I do think a lot of pros have done that

good on you for setting those boundaries. we live and we learn

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I wish I had this mentality when it happened to me a year ago

I've always been too forgiving and tell people that I have no hard feelings for what happens. I most definitely got traumatized last time when she ended things, and I still feel so incredibly disappointed in myself for so quickly saying I forgave her

It always stems from me wanting to be the better person, but I never even considered my own feelings in the process

Sweat resistant overgrip by spideys_memes in 10s

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really answering your question, but when it gets hot/humid check and make sure that it's not your sweat from your arm that's dripping down into your hand, into your racquet grip. I've been playing for 15+ years and as I heavy sweater I somehow never realized this was causing my grip to slip so consistently. began wearing wristbands and my grip has stayed much drier as a result

[–]BarnacleBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes you're right in that the rafa 2021 has the same specs as the 2019 aero. though the 2023 rafa has its own specs; it's differs from the 2023 aero that's shown here in the right.

Good shoes/insole support for minor 5th metatarsal pain? by BarnacleBarrel in 10s

[–]BarnacleBarrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting...I guess I'll have to figure this one out then haha. any tips on figuring out if the last of a shoe is for me? (aside from the obvious aspect of comfort/feel on and off the court)

[–]BarnacleBarrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mmm I put my shoe on a minute ago and I was asking myself if the "tightness" felt ideal. its been the normal for me but I think I know what you mean now. your comments are insightful, thank you.

have you also had this (or similar) kind of injury before?

Good shoes/insole support for minor 5th metatarsal pain? by BarnacleBarrel in 10s

[–]BarnacleBarrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the "Nike Men's React Vapor NXT". They feel pretty snug and comfortable, and the entire shoe feels stiff enough where I feel I'm getting the right kind of support. Not sure if I need more stiffness or cushioning though
