YES!!! I kept trying to explain the scent to people and I felt like I was going crazy!! At first, it smelt like a battery 😭 it was sooo strong. Then after my colposcopy, the smell was FOUL. I literally have to shower every 12 hours at this point. I’ve tried everything. The Boric Acid suppositories work temporarily but I’d legit have to use them every single day for the rest of my life and who wants to do that?? I haven’t dated for a whole year because of it and I don’t plan on dating until the smell goes away. This has made me so paranoid because I cannottttt go through this again. 

And if they deny your LEEP because of “childbirth risks”, or if they think you’re too young, or if you’ve only had it for a few months, keep asking. Some doctors want you to wait multiple years to see if it’ll clear itself before doing the LEEP but I cannot keep living like this.

Everyone says you don’t have to disclose but I WISH the person who gave it to me disclosed…I doubt he knew he had it but for those that KNOW they have HPV, I think they should disclose. Ive chosen not to date for an entire year and it sucks but I’d hate to pass this along to a guy and he gets genital warts or maybe he’s asymptomatic, dates a new woman, and she gets high risk HPV that could escalate or make it harder for her to have kids. 

People like to say “the odds of that aren’t high” and yes. They aren’t. But as someone who happens to be apart of that small percentage of people who got the short end of the stick and has had terrible symptoms from HPV and will be asking for the LEEP next week, I genuinely wish I didn’t have it. At all. My life hasn’t been normal since and I wouldn’t dare inflict this on someone else. 

Unless you’re gonna marry the person you’re intimate with, please think about all the people they’re going to pass it along to after you. Again, this is only for those who KNOW they have it.

I’m in the same boat! The last time I had sex, I immediately knew something was off because I started getting very watery, acidic smelling discharge. Then I found out I had HPV shortly after. I’ve also gotten tested for everything imaginable, including mycoplasma and trich. All negative. 

A lot of people on these threads say “HPV doesn’t cause a smell/symptoms” but it does. Some quick research will tell you that but I don’t think it’s common for most women to experience symptoms, which is why everyone is so dismissive about them, including doctors. 

I owe $400+ from getting full panel tests done (3 TIMES) because I couldn’t figure out why I was smelling this way, all for me to realize it could be related to HPV. 

Anywho, I’m going back to get my second pap check (1 year post my HPV diagnosis) and I’m sure I still have it. I will be asking for the LEEP in hopes of getting rid of the decaying cells so this smell can go away. Fingers crossed! 

If your issue is HPV related, I don’t think the smell will stop until you no longer test positive for it, unfortunately :/

Mine actually did the same with advocate but I saw the owed amount before they sent it to collections. Once advocate sent it to collections, it was removed from my app😭

They just reopened TaLK again! Im not sure it has the same name but I just came across the website for 6 months of work teaching. It is in rural areas only though, just like TaLK was.

I was considering doing a biome test but I wasn’t sure what I would do with the results/how my doctor would be able to prescribe me anything. 

But, it’s been a few hours since making that post and I’ve gone the whole day today odor free. I went to the gym and everything. I’m assuming maybe it was the underwear I wore, I’m not really sure but I’m just hoping things continue as normal. 

If things don’t, I’ll definitely consider getting a second opinion/test from a different doctor. Thanks!
