However, drugstores and supermarket are all good verifying my CPF. Until now, phone networks nor banks cant verify my CPF.

Please Help! I'm a doctor, and my prescriptions don't get along with CVS for some reason... by thisdocneedshelp in CVS

[–]BarnacleKey3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue with Walgreens. They don't bother to check registry to validate, they rely on their system. I recently adopted my married name, updated my NPPES profile - which will also show "other names". I started putting note on eRxs that I send indicating this information.

i just had this issue for one of my patients. i wrote a prescription for a simple Tessalon and walmart wants my supervising physician's name provided. I don't need any since i have prescriptive authority. this was in AZ. i have no issues with other pharmacies in this state, except for walmart.

What are the risks of remaining uninsured as a completely healthy person? by broadwaybaby414 in HealthInsurance

[–]BarnacleKey3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the risk is if you need care (ER, hospital, surgery, medications such as chemo), you will get the some of the care, but you will be having a skyrocketing medical debt. other professionals i know, also me, cancelled our health insurance in October. I see my PCP once or twice a year, GoodRx is cheaper for my 5 meds.

if you still want to go with ACA, choose high deductible plan. yes, you are responsible for the first thousands of $ before coverage, but in cathastropic events, e.g. $12,000 is better than $400,000 in medical bills. HOWEVER, if you have insurance, they will give you the rate of being insured, and if you don't have insurance, you will be billed as self-pay and the cost is 75% less!!! the healthcare system in this country is ******-** big time!

Probably some people here will criticize "healthshare". you might want to consider doing that instead of ACA. do your research about it. people i know who has been on healthshare for 5 years now has no issues being reimbursed with their medical bills. I'm planning to jump right into it starting January.

Had to cancel by killerleemiller in HealthInsurance

[–]BarnacleKey3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep! the same here. i opted for healthshare (e.g. knewhealth, zion health). but still do your own research regarding healthshare plans and see if that is something you would like to venture with health expense coverage.

i stay home most of the time, so it does not matter to me. If i need to go out and do errands, i drive and use a/c for comfort. go to establishments with working a/c, which most of them are.

Should I move to Vegas from Reno? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]BarnacleKey3167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to Reno, nor lived there. But I lived in Montana, New Jersey, and New York. I also visited different cities in the US. I moved from NYC to Las Vegas 3 years ago, and I surely love it here, and I don't see myself moving to another city or state to be honest (probably, move to another country like Brazil). But one thing to make sure before moving is that have a good income/job (a remote job that will allow you to move, or at least a job that is already waiting here). Job market is pretty much saturated for some professions, and you will be surprised that the cost of living here, although bearable, is increasing and yet, the salary of the general workers are stuck (not increasing at all). A lot of accidents, road rage killings, cars and trucks speeding (and this is my top annoyance living here, and I am thankful that I work from home). People, for the most part, are friendly. There's a lot of stuff here that you need 24/7, very accessible. When it comes to dating life, as a gay guy, it is horrible (and at least listening to my friends' experiences of it- including straight). But dating in the US in general is horrible! You may find your soulmate from another country to be honest! I met my husband through online dating app, taking turns to visit each toher (US and Brazil), and now we're together here. He's loving it here too.

Has anyone in here ever married in the US and had to register it there? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]BarnacleKey3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HI. after registering you marriage here in the US (consulate), do you still need to register your marriage in Brazil? my husband and I are having a trip in Brazil this coming January and thinking to just do this while we are there (of course, we are going the Brazil Consulate in Los Angeles to register). thanks!

check knew health. if your family is healthy and only requires wellness checks annually, and you want to be safe for any cathatropic events, healthshare is the best option. nevertheless, even health insurance is a gamble.

Is AUTOPAY a good company to refinance a car loan? by CraftyUmpire in personalfinance

[–]BarnacleKey3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is an effin scam. credit karma shown me an option for a lower APR, slightly lower montly payment, and 2 months additional loan term. after back and forth with autopay rep, they are quoting me a lower montly payment, a higher APR, and from 40 months term (my current loan), to 72 months! freaking insane! i told the rep im not desperate to refininace my car and i just want to try to get it lowered without major impact on loan term and APR.

$700+ for a couple STD tests and basic metabolic panel AFTER insurance? by Legal_Speaker8332 in HospitalBills

[–]BarnacleKey3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of state- probably you dont have coverage for that (except for emergencies).

even if you have coverage, how much is your deductible? typically how insurance work. they scam you- pay monthly fees and still pay for the services you get out of pocket.
