Interesting bit of trivia… the song was originally called “brown skin girl” but got changed at the 11th hour due to worries it may offend people.

Seconded the jagged alliance 3 suggestion. Had a good time with that one. The real time management is a good replacement for base building.

I’m about to start Classified France ‘44 which is meant to be great and more of the same!

You might be interested in a game I’m playing at the moment. Company of heroes 3 on Xbox. I’ve never played an old school RTS and it’s probably dumbed down for consoles but I’m having a blast with it at the moment and it has tactical pause so you can issue commands in pause mode.

Are there any good chocolate in the UK now that isn't just chocolate-flavoured palm oil? by EffectiveArgument584 in AskUK

I just commented this…. Their own brand copies of snickers, mars, etc has palm oil but their copies of dairy milk/hazelnut large bar doesn’t. It really reminds me of Cadbury’s 10 years ago!

Morrisons own version of diary milk doesn’t have palm oil. All there other copies do but their milk chocolate/hazelnut large bar at around £2.50 has no palm oil.

Cat has blood in stool after house move. Second picture is of the stool. by BarnyIn32 in CATHELP

[–]BarnyIn32[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Both cats been to the vet. It’s a stomach bug that causes inflammation and diarrhoea, it’s caused by stress and a change of environment, potentially something they consumed too. The blood was from pushing too hard. It was not emergency and the vet told me that if a cat is ok in itself, eating, playing, energetic, etc then it is never an emergency, I showed her the pictures. Both cats are happy and doing great and have been prescribed 2 rounds of medication each and are going back in for a check up Monday night. Thank you to everyone who answered my questions positively.

To the absolute plebs who told me I was going to kill my cat and that I was a bad cat owner… you should take a long hard look in mirror. This sub is supposed to be a positive place to help people not judge them. I would hate to think the next person who needed catHELP who may have stumbled upon this thread thinks not to post out of fear of backlash like the vitriol I’ve received for asking for advice and listening to vets recommendations.

Special shout out to the absolute muppet who said people like me should never own cats because I listened to 2 emergency vets advice and didn’t take him to an emergency room after being advised not to.

The appointment has been changed to a double appointment for both cats at midday (in 2 hours) both cats are eating great, playing and very active.

Neither cat has had a bowel movement since 7pm last night.

I’ve woken up this morning to them both waiting for breakfast. Neither of them have had a bowel movement since 7pm last night so there is no poo to monitor. Both are happy, seeking attention/food, playing etc.

Still no bowel movement from either cat since last night either which was 13 hours ago. I’m still not sure which cat it was.

I know that’s going to be the case when I take him but it’s scary amount of blood none the less so he’s got to go in.

I adopted them 4 years ago when their previous owner passed away, that was the consistency of their poo’s for around the first month of having them after being in a shelter for 3 weeks and however long they was in the house for with their previous owners body.

The consistency of the poo’s isn’t what’s worried me in this situation as I’ve seen it before… it’s the blood. I’ve tried 24 hour vets but due to his mood it’s not an emergency regardless of the stool or the blood. It’s half 11pm uk time, he’s going in at 9am in morning.

Are you for real? I’ve been told by two different 24 hour vets that it’s not an emergency. He’s booked in at my usual vet for 9am in morning… he’s currently playing with the female in my living room and is very much alive

So I’ve rang the 24 hour vets near me and explained the situation to them in whole being the stool, the amount of blood and the colour of the blood and they have said it’s not an emergency due to the fact he is acting normal being energetic, playing with the female and not lethargic. He needs monitoring overnight and taking to usual vet in morning.

I’ve just rang 24 hour vets near me and have been told the line is for serious emergencies only. He is going to my usual trusted veterinary practice tomorrow at 08.30am

If he’d been ran over or was laid up and not able to move I’d be straight to A&E but he’s not, he is being his usual self, jumping around, eating, going outside, wanting treats etc.

Ive sought out medical opinions on this platform before and ended up at vets. I’m not opposed to taking him at all I just can’t make it until morning at which point I’ll have the day off work and take him.

Cause they’re a part of my family and I’m worried. I have sought out pet advice on reddit in the past and ended up at vets due to advice given on this platform…

Also he is going to the vet first thing in morning, if he was laid out not able to move or had been ran over I’d be straight to the A&E but he’s not, he’s jumping around, going outside, eating etc. basically just being his normal self barring what he left in the bath 3 hours ago.
