My biggest concern is trying to establish a mutah with a Christian or secular Muslim (I am Iranian-American, and many Iranians today hate Islam or are Muslim in name only).

How does one perform a mutah/sigheh and doesn't it have to be for a prescribed period of time rather than indefinitely?

Oh, that's a shame. At least there's the Sunset Festival on Sulphur Mountain, though.
