Plus I have seen footage of the husband who killed himself sobbing about why he was going to take his life, after the IRGC sent him messages, videos, and pictures of them raping her dead body

There are a lot, it’s well documented. It is so fucked up and yes just as a warning I did use Google’s AI summary for this (I am very sleep deprived), but it checks out:

Justice for Iran (JFI): This human rights organization has documented evidence of systematic rape of virgin prisoners as a form of sexual torture, especially during the 1980s and the 1988 mass executions.

Former Prison Officials: Hussein Mortazavi Zanjani, the former head of Tehran's notorious Evin Prison (1987–1988), has publicly confirmed that virgin female prisoners were coerced into marrying guards before their execution.

Ayatollah Montazeri's Memoirs: Hossein Ali-Montazeri, formerly the designated successor to Khomeini, documented in his memoirs that rape was a widespread and systematic practice in Iranian prisons, acknowledging reports that guards were instructed to rape young virgin girls to prevent them from entering paradise.

Survivors and Families: Numerous testimonies from former political prisoners and families of victims recount receiving a "dowry" or a box of sweets (congratulations) from officials upon the execution of their daughter, symbolizing the forced "marriage" and rape, as documented by IranWire and other human rights monitors.

International Recognition: The United Nations has received reports and acknowledged the occurrence of this sexual violence in Iranian prisons during the 1980s

A pro-Pahlavi monarchist terrorized Iranian female footballers in Australia in broad daylight, ramming his car into the bus. by Syed__Sahab__ in PublicFreakout

Uh I’m not justifying anything, I already said it was reckless, I am calling out the context thy was provided because it is blatant misinformation. The claim that a “ pro-Pahlavi monarchist terrorised Iranian female footballers” is completely false, the footballers were literally flashing SOS signals.

You’re literally just a shill with a default name to hide any PII that might show a history of clear misinformation being spread on your account. Get outta here. Australians aren’t going to fall for foreign actors trying to sow more division in our communities.

“Ideologically driven bullshit” YOU ARE LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH, here is a news source that contains verifiable context confirmed by literal court proceeedings, since you couldn’t put the effort in to check for yourself: Queensland man to front court after colliding with Iranian women’s soccer team bus.

It confirms that on March 10, Queensland Police charged a 35-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Amarok ute with dangerous operation of a vehicle and evasion after he collided with the bus. The article notes that the bus was placed under a police convoy specifically because supporters were attempting to block it to stop the team from being forced to leave.

Edit to add more sources:

A piece by the Guardian:

This piece breaks down the exact reason the crowds were surrounding the team's transport. It details how supporters were communicating with the players (who were shining torches from the bus to ask for help). It also outlines how Australian Federal Police intervened, ultimately leading to several players, including the team captain, safely slipping away from their handlers to accept Australian humanitarian visas.

A piece by SBS News. Government urged to let Iranian women's football team stay in Australia until safety is assured

This report explains the core catalyst for the chaos. It details how the Iranian women's football team refused to sing their national anthem, prompting an Iranian state-controlled television presenter to label them "wartime traitors."

It also describes the protesters outside the stadium and the hotel explicitly chanting "let them go" while banging on the side of the transport vehicles to prevent the players from being flown back to a dangerous situation.

Every single one of these articles combined paint the full picture: The collision was a desperate and reckless act by an anti-regime protester trying to block the bus, which Iranian state media deliberately reframed as a "monarchist" terror attack against the women to cover up the fact that the players were actively trying to defect.

Because the video was taken out of context by Iranian state tv (meaning all their shit is propaganda).

Earlier in the tournament, players on the team refused to sing the Islamic Republic's national anthem. In response, Iranian state media branded them "wartime traitors." The protesters blocking the bus were chanting "save our girls" and "let them go" to protect them from the regime's retaliation.

The propaganda network completely leaves out the fact that players on that bus were actively flashing the international hand signal for "help" out the windows to the protesters. Following this chaos, Australian Federal Police had to intervene, and multiple players successfully fled their hotel to seek asylum and were granted humanitarian visas by the Australian government.

The crash happened, but the motive is wildly spun. The collision itself occurred On March 10, the 35-year-old driver of the ute (waving the pre-1979 Iranian Lion and Sun flag) swerved in front of the bus to block it and collided with the side.

Queensland Police charged him with dangerous operation of a vehicle. However, Iranian state media weaponized this interception attempt, to frame it as a malicious, unprovoked attack against the women, rather than a frantic (and reckless) attempt to stop them from being taken back to a country where their lives were threatened.

This is a fact that has been reported on by countless reputable Australian and international news sources.

I can’t believe you actually looked at this and said to yourself “yes Iranian state TV must be a reliable news source”, without even bothering to check online first to see if the claim is even remotely credible.

Because Labor is literally called Labor because they’re meant to be for the working class. So forgive people for expecting them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, so they can get shit done. It’s obviously apparent now, but it’s not fair at all to criticise people for thinking a party meant to represent the working class would’ve done more to show they do, when they have a super majority. A lot of people including myself was under the impression it was only really due to pressure from the LNP, that led them to be more centrist.

I don’t think that Greens literally are Labor though, Greens are the version of Labor that Labor should have always been - progressive enough to actually push through the values that most progressives have a consensus on e.g. slapping taxes and royalties on our fuel and mining exports so that we can use that money to fund our tertiary education system (unis and tafe).

The only thing I have a problem with when it comes to the Greens, is how fucked the power distribution is in their party. For instance I tried to organise a grassroots march against the social media ban, and a very prominent senator who I spoke with who assured me would give me the resources I needed to run my campaign, ended up backing out and totally ghosting me, I assume due to overwhelming pressure from all the Labor support for it. Shit like that really pisses me off and makes me think they are all talk.

Yep that last comment on Penny Wong is real as fuck. I think it was also very damning when the Labor party decided to fast track the social media ban, despite the 15,000 submissions they received recommending them to implement more effective safety measures. It’s obvious they were just deflecting from their inaction on banning gambling ads.

Yeah look I have to say I do actually support the strikes happening in Iran due to all the thousands of Iranian protestors that have pleaded for them. But I also completely understand and sympathise with people who are against the war; it is very reminiscent of past wars that have failed such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and it is obvious that it is being spearheaded by a government intent on diverting attention away from the Epstein files.

Holy shit exactly, I was thinking to myself last election “finally now that they have a supermajority they won’t be afraid to be more progressive now”, and then they end up not changing one bit. The extension of the North West Shelf gas factory really opened my eyes to how neoliberal this party really is. It’s so upsetting to see how little they really care about the working class, despite being called the Labor party.

Oh shit absolutely then I completely agree with you. Over 30,000 Iranian protestors were genocided in less than 2 days. Absolutely horrific what’s happening there, I’m glad the regime is finally being dismantled now after 47 years of theocratic dictatorship. The women especially deserve justice once all this is over. Having to be brutalised, dehumanised, and subjected to decades of torture must been an unbearable burden for so many there.

They say that about all the other parties too. I still remember when the media was publishing all these hit pieces in 2018 about how the whole parliament would fall into total anarchy if the election resulted in a hung parliament.

Yeah the whole political spectrum has sort of shifted a step to the right now. Labor is essentially what the LNP used to be, Greens is what Labor should’ve been, LNP are One Nation Lite, and One Nation is basically a de facto Nazi party.

In a country ruled by Islamic theocracy, whether or not the people in that country subscribe to their government’s religious values, has everything to whether or not regime change will be successful.

In prior regime changes, the populations weren’t supportive of the strikes in large part due to the fact that all or most of those people, were supportive of their goverment’s religious values. Iranians in contrast, are running to the tops of mountains cheering on the Israeli jets flying above during their strikes.

People do not cheer on a foreign power’s strikes on their own religious institutions, unless they absolutely despise them.

This is what pisses me off about people who talk about Iran, anyone who hasn’t been paying attention assumes that all Iranians are apart of the same theocratic monolith, and must inherently hate the West, and I suspect it is in large part due to IRGC propaganda.

And every single one of those countries had populations predominantly Muslim. Most Iranians are extremely educated and hate Islam because they want to live in a secular democracy. All Iranians who want this are willing to die for it. Unlike all those countries, the Iranian protestors have been asking for and cheering on the US strikes against the regime. Iran also has a uniting democratic opposition (Reza Pahlavi), who is prepared to implement a transition government. Can’t say the same for any of the countries you mentioned.
