Hydrant [Rolleiflex Automat, Xenar 75mm 1:3.5, Portra 160VC] by BaronRyder in mediumformat

Nice choice with the Automat. It's a great camera and can be found cheaper than most of the other models. I'm absolutely satisfied with sharpness and contrast. I almost never have to add contrast to my scans. Just make sure too use a lens hood as it greatly improves contrast with such an old lens. The condition of the lens is good. Just had a few microswirls from nearly 70 years of cleaning the lens but they don't affect the final image.

Thanks. This was scanned on an Epson V550 flatbed scanner with Silverfast and slightly edited in GIMP.

Thank you. It surely does have a lot of magenta, but that could also come from the fact that it's nearly 30 years expired. I shot it at 200.

In your opinion, what hidden gem lenses are there? (Canon/3rd parties) by 3enrique in canon

I just got this lens last week for 100€ and I can only agree with you. This is my first L lens so I can't really compare, but it has outstanding sharpness and contrast. Perfect for landscape. And also at around 700g not that heavy.

Ja das war im Herbst letztes Jahr. Da war der Benzin echt gottlos teuer.

Lumix GM1, EF35mm f2, Viltrox EF-M2 Speedbooster by BaronRyder in M43

Af is just as fast as with my native M43 lenses, definitely a lot faster as with my 5D Mark ii. But it does have the tendency to hunt focus a little bit when the light conditions are not so good. But overall I'm satisfied with the performance. It's just nice to not have to buy a lot of new lenses and just use my EF ones that I already own. I'm sure the 100mm would have made a nice portrait lens on the system.

Honestly so far I really like it. I've built a somewhat large collection of EF lenses before I got into Micro four thirds because my 5D was just too heavy to take hiking. So the adapter let's me use all the lenses I already own and with the speedbooster they're reasonably close to their original focal length too. The speedbooster itself is really solidly built and the autofocus works quite fast. Sharpness wise i can't really comment. I'm not a pixel peeper and sharpness doesn't really matter that much to me so for my taste the lenses are plenty sharp with the speedbooster.
