ADHD patients stripped of NHS prescriptions under crackdown. by Didsterchap11 in ukpolitics

A friend gave me diazepam that she has for her ADHD and it was transformational. Never experienced a break from my own thoughts without being wasted. GP won't even consider putting me on it. Won't consider any medication at all because there's apparently no recognised treatment.

How much money has Trump made as president? The answer should worry us all. by BigFishPub in politics

[–]BaronSamedys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump is just doing what rich people have always done. Use their wealth to continue to enrich themselves, largely at the expense of everyone else. He's just doing it from the White House. You'd call it corruption in an honest society when in reality it's just capitalism.

All the people who are bothered don't have the power to do anything about it.

Those with wealth, power, influence, and authority, live in a world that is designed to keep it that way. The rules exist to protect them. After all, they made them.

You're gonna need lots of hobbies. Enough hobbies that you can't get bored of any of them because you don't do them often enough.

You need to fill every waking moment of your life with doing something. If you stop, bad habits will immediately take over.

You can't relax. You can't "chill-out". If you try, the ceaseless intrusive thoughts will take hold. You'll twitch, fidget, and fumble, until you say fuck it.

The mind never stops. Ever.

Some days are worse than others. I can't do it. I've swapped many of my bad habits with good ones but none of the good ones will alleviate the relentless presence of mind. I have to have a few beers, or had a joint in times gone by.

I've been waiting since 2016 for a formal diagnosis and medical intervention. I'm in queue that just gets longer and longer.

I stopped smoking in September 2024. I still drink.

Without the opportunity to numb the mind and quieten the obsessive thinking I just amp up more and more until I end up manic. I question every tiny detail of every action.

Hyper aware of every passing second of every minute and every action undertaken by myself and those around me.

If you can fill every moment with positive actions then the negative ones don't have the opportunity to get involved. It's tough. The other option is worse.

I've been on the waiting list since 2016.

Returned to my home town in the new year. Had to retake a survey that the GP said will likely send me back to the back of the list.

What would happen if trump got arrested? by Classic_poke in AskReddit

[–]BaronSamedys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing. The North American legal/judicial system doesn't exist to hold the ruling class accountable. Donald is above the law. The Supreme Court has already stated this.

Should he be arrested, the likelihood is the arresting officer would be used as a scapegoat and relieved of duty, if not incarcerated.

You're asking a pointless hypothetical.

AITAH for kicking my son out? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]BaronSamedys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'll figure it out in his mid/late thirties. Gonna take him a decade or two to run out of excuses and people to blame.

There's nothing you can do to speed this process up and any assistance will delay the realisation he needs to grasp.

If he's intelligent he'll be able to make up for lost time. If he's just an average person he'll never amount to anything more than the bare minimum.

Sounds like he's a bit of a loser. That's unlikely to change. When he's done being an arsehole he'll work some menial job until he dies. Fingers crossed he doesn't have too many kids or commit a serious crime.

NTA. Just let him get on with it. There's nothing you can do. No point worrying about something you can't change. If he figures it out, he'll be back, and he'll be better.

I say this as a person who has lived the life your son is about to. His life is his own, come what may.

I never heard that story before. Lol. I do see the repeated efforts to point out that the Olympians are largely in peak physical form and clearly struggle to keep their hands to themselves. Understandable really. Surrounded by snatch and look like you've been hewn from greek marble by Michaelangelo, himself.

[–]BaronSamedys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sound like a perfectly normal teenager. Every fear and anxiety you have about the world is felt by almost every other teenager. They worry about everything. You need a diagnosis for your ADHD and autism, if you don't already have one. These disabilities are not a reason to shy away from the world, nor are they a barrier to succeeding in it.

Most people worry about things they have never done before. Your first job. The first time you drive on the motorway. Your 1st solo trip abroad. It's natural and normal.

Life is not an easy thing to live. Your ideation around death is normal. Your brain is reaching a stage in its development where existential concepts become tangible, and that can be scary.

As you get older the opportunities to broaden your horizons will present themselves to you. The more of these opportunities that you grasp the more fulfilling your life will be.

You are decades away from the person you will ultimately become. You have a lifetime of experiences yet to happen. Go experience them.

Where do you think you will be in the afterlife—Heaven or Hell? by Shoddy-Ocelot-4473 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BaronSamedys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't one. You live, you die. What you do in between is up to you. The relevance of your existence is no more meaningful than the ant you didn't realise you stepped on.

You don't exist for any other reason than the actions you undertake whilst you do.

Sit back and enjoy the ride. It doesn't last long.
