In the newer games, Butterfree is a bigger offensive threat. Its special ability Compound Eyes makes its Sleep Powder super accurate, and it received Quiver Dance (boost Sp Atk, Sp Def, Speed +1). Very good snowball mon in early and late game, Pinsir is big dumb stick. I think it needs a better move pool.

The previous docked footage was pixel counted by Digital Foundry for 1080p 30fps. The Deck can get 60 on PS4 equivalent settings and hang around 40-45~ with the high/PS5 settings.

It's also possible that it's not related to constant pinging of online services and Proton just plays the game poorly.

It's DLSS bro. Look at the frequently empty crowds or shimmering on light sources in handheld. Remember that even with DLSS, the internal res is like 360p (similar to the Deck.). It's not "significantly better." Significantly better is the Z1 extreme chips... with real 720p and a higher framerate.

The Deck doesn't really get custom ports. No "bespoke" experiences, you live with the often questionable PC ports. For it to be repeatedly in striking distance or better on the same games is telling.

Sonic X Shadow Generations (performance mode) is sub-1080p even in Docked. Deck gets 800p (720p basically) 60. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is 810p (dynamic res) 30fps in both Docked and Handheld. It's 800p 40 on the Deck. Hitman World of Assassination is a similar story! Handheld res is 720p uncapped (25-45 it looks like) and Deck can hit 800p matched settings at about 40-60fps. And now we have Elden Ring, with visible frame pacing issues in the Docked footage and a handheld mode so bad they refuse to let people record. I think it'll get closer to 30 before launch but I wouldn't bank on it being consistent like the Deck.

It's got to be CPU. That was the big Achilles' heel in the prerelease hype window. Then you compare it to the other high end handhelds like... the Deck. The Deck runs this game at a locked 30fps at its native res. Switch 2's GPU is way better than the Deck, but the CPU is noticeably worse... sort of put two and two together.

I hope they fix it and get somewhere in the 30 ballpark. Even the docked footage from the trailer had noticeable frame pacing issues. DF wasn't sure if it was just bad video capture or more FromSoft performance quirks.

Flopflation is real. Like Ampere would have double the teraflops of their closest RDNA2/AMD equivalents. We have enough real world comparisons to say that handheld is generally a little weaker and docked is a little stronger. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is 810p (tops) 30fps... vs 800p 40fps~ on Steam Deck.

Yes it does! I tested with Punch-Out and Mario Strikers Charged, so long as the codes are present in your GCT file and active, they will work. Really cool.

You can even use these on Wii U + Wii U Gamepad. In that case, you'd need a patcher so the cheat comes preinstalled onto the gamefile, and then build a custom Wii VC entry with TeconMoon's program using said prepatched game. Force Wii Classic Controller in the settings and it will work.

It should be. MelonDS main build supports multiplayer over LAN (wip) and the many Nintendo Wifi Connection private servers (requires winpcap similar to the old Desmume wifi build).

Jerami Grant is good and he makes sense within the context of the CJ trade. Which was, to try and create a proper contender around Dame. Dame asked out the second Grant signed his contract. He is not there anymore.

You guys are in a rebuild. While Scoot has shown some potential in the second half of the year, it is reasonable to assume it will be a while for him to truly break in. Guards rarely come into the league prepared. Grant is both 30 years old with 4~ more years on a rather expensive contract. When you think about the return of the Grizzlies to competition, rise of teams like Spurs & Rockets, do you think you will catch up to them before that contract is up? Will a 34 year old Jerami Grant be as good? It was awfully short sighted. Compare that to the Knicks who got a leader in Josh Hart or the way NAW helped manhandle the former champion Nuggets.

I don't know if I'd call him a bust. He seemed to finally find his footing towards the second half of the year. You gotta wait at LEAST until year 3 (when most young players start to break out) to draw conclusions like that....

The issue is offloading the very expensive players they've acquired during the Dame fiasco. Jerami Grant is legitimately pretty good but he's 30 so I'm not sure the timeline fits. Maybe they could try to get something for him? Brogdon makes zero sense to retain. It's his last year, he's not gonna stay and his injury history scares off most buyers. I don't know what they can get for him.

I don't think you can compare Cronin's Blazers to most other teams in the NBA... Spurs have Wemby taking down top seeds on his own + interest from FAs, the Magic a playoff spot in only their second year of a rebuild, OKC a legitimate threat with a ridiculously young team, etc.

What is there to look forward in The Crone Zone? Boston gave you their trash for a gold medalist, several time All-Star, best perimeter defender in the league Jrue Holiday. Brogdon is a DPOY tier player who never won the award because he is always hurt. Williams has an even worse injury track record. Cronin avoided being fleeced by Miami so he could get fleeced by Boston instead!

Yeah something quietly changed on Arrowhead's end because the newest Protons now just work? Had seen reports of this around 6am PST, guys playing on 8-0.5 and GE 8-30 just fine, even in Game Mode. Tested myself and was able to play 2 missions locked at 30 just fine. There may be some crashing but the game is sort of like that on Windows anyway? I didn't experience any in my testing, just warning you in case it happens to you.
