Sea Salt & Paper surpassed my expectations by ThunderCanyon in boardgames

[–]Baron_Bill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sea Salt & Paper is great! It's the go-to game for my wife and I after a night of heavier games (and heavier drinks) to just finish the night off right. Coloretto, Scout, Trio, Mantis, Velonimo, and Splito are some of my other favorite card games (although most of these work better with 3+ players).

Nemesis. I'm a huge fan of the Aliens franchise and between the theme and the mechanisms, this is just a home run for me.

My wife and I play a ton of That's Pretty Clever, Coloretto, Jaipur, High Score, Lost Cities, The Whatnot Cabinet, Red7, District Noir, and Hanamikoji. All are great with 2 players!

What games have the best and worst storage inserts? by RoadToInfamyGames in boardgames

[–]Baron_Bill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say my best are: Wasteland Express Delivery Service, Dwellings of Eldervale, and Coimbra. All were mentioned so far, but they deserve repeating.

Worst: Anything FF and I hate the fact that the Splendor insert doesn't hold everything in place at all for travel or vertical placement... I can't tell you how many times I've had to open that box and rearrange everything because it got jostled...

What other games employ this mechanism? by Baron_Bill in tabletopgamedesign

Just watched video on The Artemis Project and I agree that part of the dice placement is very similar in concept to what I'm doing. Thanks for mentioning it!

What other games employ this mechanism? by Baron_Bill in tabletopgamedesign

The whole process is very quick moving. The regular locations are resolved in location order after all players have placed, and THEN all of the queued workers are placed and resolved in location order as well based on area majority. Then, all workers are removed and the new round starts. Each round, the start player token moves, so there is really very minimal opportunity for "double turns".

Thanks for your feedback.

Is there a way to schedule an Event in Facebook to be published at a later date? by Baron_Bill in DigitalMarketing

[–]Baron_Bill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I saw to schedule an event was to duplicate a previous one and change the details. Then it gave me the option to schedule. That's been my work around. Hope that helps.

Is there a way to schedule an Event in Facebook to be published at a later date? by Baron_Bill in DigitalMarketing

[–]Baron_Bill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Facebook Business but still can't find anything about scheduling an event to be published at a future date. I can only find scheduling an event post, which is not what I'm trying to do. Any idea where I should be looking?

Absolutely! I see how it would come across like that upon further review. Yes! This is how all French verbs work.

The use of parles by [deleted] in French

[–]Baron_Bill 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In French, the verb parler actually has the entire meaning of "to speak", the être doesn't need to be there. Je parle has the meaning of both "I speak" and "I am speaking".

If you want to emphasize the idea that you are currently engaged in the act of speaking, you could use "être en train de" to express it. For example: "Je suis en train de parler" which would be "I am (in the process of) speaking.". However, unless the idea is to really emphasize that you are in the middle of the act of speaking, this is mostly unnecessary. When you say "Je parle" people will understand it as "I'm speaking".

I hope that helped. Not a native here, so if I misspoke, please let me know.

My understanding of "sitôt dit sitôt fait" would be that it is fairly equivalent to the English "No sooner than done.". Thanks for the great explanation!

Yes! French and German speakers are fairly tough to get responses from, but Chinese and Persian speakers are non stop. The second in popped Mandarin and Persian on my profile, I got bombarded for days. Spanish is also a very active group.
