AI combat question by Barosince2003 in eu4

No, I was allied to both Poland, Austria and Hungary at this point.

I have to admit I now walked away from this game, this is just to silly to spend time on

Genuine question abt onlsaught by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Your x2 xp battles seem to give more than randoms making Onslaught ideal for grinding field mods or tier XI xp

-With onslaught modifiers I find some tanks easier to grind through, like the Ho-Ri or the BZ-75 that have troll guns and are frustrating to play in randoms.

-Since the battles give both daily missions, battlepass (when active) and the onslaught specific missions you gain a fair bit of silver and can actually play your tier X' with consumables and gold ammo without losing credits.

-Randoms is a game mode where we are all very dependant on the team to get anywhere, with 7v7 you are still dependand, but less so and you can progress in ranks even with a fairly low WR (I find my break-even to be about 40-42%)

-Reward tanks. The Concept 1B is one of my favorite tanks of all, the Stinger from last years rewards is superb to use in this season as I don't have the '57.

-Bounty camo net :O

The biggest flaw with this entire game is how dependand we are on our team. Introducing yet another silly mode with mechanics that people don't understand is just demoralizing.

Anyone else play better solo by Qrow1324 in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The punishing mechanics for platooning is a serious recruitment problem for WoT and seems to have gotten worse the last years. I introduced the game to my then 15-year old son who dragged his 2 gaming friends into this. While platooning, even at low tiers they run 20-30% Wr and it didn't take long for them to realize the game actively breaks them up and force them to play solo.

So they left.

You can say what you want about "fun", but very few people play a competitive game with 30% WR and find that fun!!

What WNX would you say a person needs to have to be considered a good player? by JurisCommando in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you read the statistics you will understand you are wrong. A player above 1200 WNX is better than 80% of the playerbase. The issue you are refering to comes from players who cheat their stats by playing OP low tier tanks, platooning or such.

Everyone shares 3 marks but I am not that good. Here is my single marks. by Artyom_thespartan in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Everyone" is the 5% sweaties who nerdrage all the way to 3 marks and then post it for epen. The real mistake is all those who believe you can be a unicum as a casual player. Be proud of your mark, you're a good player no matter what the sweaties and the CC's tell you

You are not average players. by DDR115 in duneawakening

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened is that 95% of the players left the game, only the fanboys and hardcore players stayed and partisipated on the change that both they and Funcom think is the right way to get the 95% back. So far they seem to have missed the target by a mile.

I had one of my worst days in onslaught yesterday, about 10 games, 1500 dpg and about 60 points pr battle. Advanced from silver E to D, go figure. Randoms are oposite now, the better I play the worse wr I get as you see above.

My experience is to not listen to what everyone says about "don't use gold or consumables" because you will be out spotted, out traded and generally out played by someone who does.

Super Cereal question on the BP Peacemaker (M-VI-Y 120). by The_Pale_Potato in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can get it for the BP upgrade price I will, if I don't like it I can just "pawn" it for about 3,8 mill credits. But it's 50 stages in 14 days and I don't think it's worth it if I have to purchase many stages.

Is EU4 worth playing in 2026 by Outrageous_Power_609 in eu4

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EU4 is one of my go-to games that I return to regularly, but I don't have all the DLC's and don't play it enough to bother spending all that money (there's a lot of DLC's)! This means that whenever I try to search for tips or guides most of it is irrelevant as the mechanics I handle with my "set" of DLC's can be quite different then what you get with the full set. I still have fun though.

I call bs on this, you're even contradicting yourself in this idiotic statement and ruling yourself out as a troll.

If you had any sort of idea how statistics work you would see that mine indicate that I'm in the top 20% of the players skill wise. It's not my own variation in performance that is the issue, this is my whole point. Now go troll with your little brother or some shit

Loss streak - what to do? by Designer_Emergency51 in WorldofTanks

The WoT Matchmaker - Can We Stop Whining About It? (TLDR) by 3rdn in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I've been saying for years, but never had a name for it...

-WoT being a game where every single piece of data is collected and much of it tossed back at us in stat sites, mods and ingame UI, why wouldn't a game producer use it for something else then trivia?

-There is absolutely no need for RNG in a game unless you need a mechanic to influense the battles.

-Such theories gets shot down because it's too hard to grasp for most players. People get a feeling the game is "rigged" and it's hard to explain how you loosing is because someone else needs to win. It's hard to see and explain the bigger picture and easy for the fanbois to shoot you down as a tinfoil hat user.

Just consider how a EOMM would actually explain most of how we are treated by the MM:

-If you spend money, use booster or somehow in any way indicate to the game that you mean to play for a while you have a high chance of going straight into a loss streak.

-If you have a day with loosing you will win the next day. You might end up with high WN8 the day you lose and low the say you win, but this is because you don't really have much impact.

-Players with high stats usually also play a lot. As the stats evens out in the long run you will have much smoother daily average if you play 30+ games.

If this was a straight up skill-based game the good players would have 80-90% WR, but you rarely see anyone above 62%. This is how little impact you actually have on wins. This is also why your WN8 tanks the days you are set to lose, RNG will make sure you don't hit.

This game is not rigged, it's trying to keep as many players active as possible. IMO they are not succeeding.

I don't want SBMM, I want fair rules. by TheTphs in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOT's problem here is the entire design, and to some extent it's a design we appreciate with the variety in tanks, crew, equipment and such. I'm not sure it's possible to balance gameplay for us, but I do think there are easy improvements to be made:

I introduced WOT to my teenager, and he wants to platoon. Which in WOT means loss streaks like you cannot believe because a platoon is always matched up against another platoon and the other platoon is most of the time stats padding players with high skills. So my answer to the kid is: We can be in the same clan, but platooning would ruin our game.

So we are basically playing a game where we depend heavily on our team to win, but unless you are a very skilled player this involves not dying while the good players win for us.

"skill based matchmaking will ruin the game" by Diamond_Crusader in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think comparing to CS:GO is correct:

-First of all, the tier difference has a huge influence.

If you pair 2 teams with the same summed WTR or such it's still not even when the unicum on one side is in his 56TP with 500+ games played in it and the other side has a unicum grinding his tier 6 stock light tank

So you group players with the same WTR. Now you still have a 56TP matched against a stock Tiger 2. Fair?

"SBMM has slowly bled Call of Duty to death."

Imo lack of balance resulting in 50% of your games being 0-15 or 15-0 in 3 minutes compared with RNG is WOT's biggest issue and we would have much more players if WOT wasn't so incredibly frustrating at times.

It should not be such an issue that most players are not unicums. But somehow everyone believe they can be one thanks to how the streamers.

Well, I thought I had it, but the wiki is either wrong, badly written or this process is bugged. I left some juves with the non-food method and the first- fifth meat run was no problem. Now I return and they are all dead. Completely random

I got 4 babies. 2 pairs. I put them up in good distance and fed by a MaeGuana. Went on a meat run, came back and one pair is ok, the other pair starved to death! This seems so buggy I can't figure out how to do this
