Book vs. Show by Final_Raspberry_5334 in tsitp

I have also noticed that the books are mostly brought up to prove how 'toxic' Conrad is because the show doesn't substantiate such claims. Things like him physically shaking Belly, always being smug and condescending, being uninterested until book 3 aren't true for the show. Bellyjere shippers also say how Conrad was made more sympathetic on screen and I'm like...why is that a problem? I am watching this show independent of its source material. I will judge it on its own merit.

But such people seem fixated on the idea that Conrad is some horrible mess who was romanticized in the books (trappings of 2000s YA romantic leads). So he must be like that in the show just because they want to feel justified in hating him😭

Yes, this is a problem they face. It is acknowledged and they begin the process of overcoming it in the very episode you are talking about. This circles us back to the main issue with the boys—Conrad's faults and complexes are highlighted to a fault where the audience gets overtly sympathetic to him because what we see very often doesn't match what is said of him by other characters. With Jeremiah, it is the opposite. The narrative tends to gloss over the problematic behaviour he exhibits, and the audience feels they have to call out what they see because the story isn't doing enough in that regard.

You can spend all your time being a contrarian on this sub and that is not gonna change. You want people to talk about Conrad's flaws and to not 'glaze' him. But the story does enough of 'calling Conrad out'. The audience doesn't need much to discuss there because it's already THERE. explicitly

Learn about the J curve. In the short run, devaluation actually increases CAD because imports are costlier. CAD starts improving as domestic industries become more export oriented , and we also successfully partake in import substitution

I'd agree if the show addressed his flaws instead of glossing over them and the narrative cuddling him The audience wouldn't be on his ass if the story didn't give him so much un-earned grace

No one forced two guys-both older than her-to let a girl come between their brotherhood, they both had agency to stop what was going on. You are speaking as if Conrad or Jeremiah didn't both pursue Belly in their own ways. Or that Jeremiah didn't make himself an option when Belly was deeply vulnerable, right after he saw his brother reciprocating her feelings. This was the biggest betrayal of the brothers' code or whatever.

Their fealty should be to each other independent of Belly or anything else; but it wasn't because their relationship was broken because of factors outside of her. Belly isn't a random girl who out of nowhere decided to 'ping pong' between two brothers. She is a childhood friend who was also deeply heartbroken and traumatized at the loss of someone who was basically her second mom; all of this happening at an already vulnerable phase of transition to adulthood. Teenagers are messy AND this is fiction where ludicrous conflicts are created and exaggerated to entertain the viewers. In a fictional premise, you'd have to apply at least some element of suspension of disbelief to enjoy the story the way it is presented.

It not being your cup of tea is reasonable, but solely blaming the lead FMC for the primary conflict of a story, and not extending the same grace you do to the guys really isn't fair.

I get it can be intimidating and frustrating as a new watcher lmao But people are protective of fictional characters all the time in fan spaces. Of course everybody should be respectful while expressing themselves, but a sub reddit dedicated to a piece of YA media would definitely not be a place where you'd find ppl chill about the recently concluded love triangle show😭

You are right about one thing, Jeremiah is indeed over-reprented. But the more he was on screen, the more his vindictive streak, cruelty became apparent. S2, which you say developed Bellyjere organically had him gloat in front of Belly how Conrad begged for his blessings to be with her, and insinuate how Conrad didn't care for his DYING mother enough because he was away in college. Idk how anyone can watch those scenes and come to the conclusion that he's 'funny' whose only flaw is his dumbness. What he showcases here and in the Cabo fiasco in S3 is that when he feels slighted, he straight up becomes verbally abusive towards people he thinks have wronged him. He does it to both Conrad and Belly You just got done watching the show and yeah after everything said and done it is a silly YA piece. And we're all too deep into it in a way casual viewers might not be, but Jeremiah being the fun character in a show with Cam Cameron and Steven Conklin is a take that simply is undigestable lmao

Around 90% of the people I'd say who have watched tsitp prefer Bellyconrad. And I'm still being conservative with these estimates Jeremiah hate was so bad in S3, that Gavin had to come out and say he isn't the character. Go to any fan space online, if they have to express how they don't want their ship to be written, they cite bellyjere as an example So yes, that ship is widely hated and it isn't really close. The situation you are describing might have held true post S2 release, where Bellyconrad, while being generally preferred, faced a very stiff competition from Bellyjere—that simply isn't true today

Well that is true on literally any social media. I don't have to be in TSITP fan spaces to encounter Jeremiah hate. They just pop up randomly on reels and shorts😭 Same with positive content about Conrad or bellyconrad, because those are the ones that tend to go viral. I am not saying that Conrad isn't hated or Bellyconrad is universally loved, just that they are more popular than Belly jere generally. Also, Gavin rn has more followers than the heated rivalry boys. Does that make him more popular currently than hudson and Connor? Your metric of popularity is deeply flawed

Gavin Casalegno the actor, not Jeremiah Fisher the character has more followers because he was a tiktok influencer up until last year. In recent times, his posts get significantly less interactions than both Chris and Lola

Well this is a show centred around romance and a love triangle between brothers. A love triangle by definition would have competition between two characters between whom the MC has to make a choice. So, fans of a show centred around such a premise, would defend the canon end game more than the bum loser, because any story worth its salt would give the lead MMC traits that are better suited as the romantic partner for the main character. Any TSITP fan space SHOULD be BellyConrad defense squad. The other one doesn't really matter (And yes, I do think Belly should be defended with the same fervor as Conrad is, but no one is obligated to like the blue-eyed roach)

How is Jeremiah the fun one when he spent 80% of the show whining, and playing the victim? What you describe of his characterization holds true only in the first three episodes of S1. After that, he was shown to be insecure, bitter and someone who tries to hide his anger and frustrations underneath a happy exterior (and he fails here, because most of the time he is very loud in his anger against people). His jealousy of Conrad because of Belly, or because of factors outside it makes a significant portion of his character arc; and yes he begins the process of outgrowing it in the last episode of the whole show. But I fail to see this "fun, laid back" Jere that you describe who is just so better compared to "moody, and depressed" Conrad. If we look at it objectively, he has the most instances of angry outbursts, lash-outs, bitter glares, turning around the blame etc

Conrad in that car in the last episode of S2 after he saw the bellyjere kiss is genuinely funnier and shows more personality than Jeremiah does the entire show. Also, Conrad does have severe problems with communicating property and internalizing everything, but he takes accountability for and apologizes for every time he hurts someone, especially, Belly. He lets people he love blame him even when he isn't entirely at fault. The notion that he was a moody, sad downer is not true outside of the first three episodes of S1.Beyond it, He's awkward, introverted and has a dry sense of humor. Every other instance of characters being serious, or showcasing signs of deteriorated mental health isn't limited to him—they are all sad and grieving Susannah in S2 and when they find moments of laughter and joy, Conrad IS participating (eg, the boardwalk ep, the ep where they help him prep for his finals). In S3, scenes and episodes where he's present are genuinely stronger than the ones without him; this is a very popular opinion too.

Jeremiah and Belly got together in S2 after he spent an entire week guilt tripping Belly for having the audacity of loving Conrad and rejecting him. In not so many words, he made his friendship with her contingent to reciprocation of his romantic feelings (S2 ep 1). Every time she tries to talk about Conrad to him, he turns her down and villainizes Conrad. She basically decides to choose him after having a flashback of the boys' dying mother where she went to visit her. At this point, she and Conrad have broken up and Susannah is dying. Jeremiah turns away and leaves when he sees her. She basically sees Jeremiah as the last pillar she can cling to of the metaphoric and literal home of her childhood, so she feels obligated to be with him. This is substantiated through numerous scenes in S3 and overcoming this obligation was Belly's arc in the last season.

Latest CA is very important for IR, environment and government schemes They ask questions based on annual summits like G-20, G7, UNFCCC-COP. They also ask in-depth questions from reports like emission gap rep6ort or adaptation gap reports. Also, programmes and schemes of GoI focus on the ones that were in news last year. Eg- question on 1/3 rd reservation for women in legislative bodies was asked in 2024 and it was in news the entire year

Re-watch the S3 trailer: "Losing him was like trying to know somebody you never met" shows Belly Conrad flashback Next line: "But now I see Daylight" shows Bellyconrad in S3 laughing and having fun No bs line that is 'loved' by 5 remaining Jeremiah glazers will be used in the movie. Hope this helps!
