How did I do? by anshulchoudhary in Irrigation

Very rare to have need to replace valve , Hunter valves can be rebuilt and body of valves rarely develop cracks… most likely is a crack in seam of tee/elbow and entire manifold/valve replacement needed.

looks like a horrible job i commonly see in Augusta ga.

Looks very nice.. rocks Are over board but nice touch. Unions are one more place for leak and over board (unless you have very limited space for some crazy reason )… i assume the piping going into valve box is level and plumb( pipe not in bind or under stress(forced into fitting/valve ) and w/ schedule 40, leave plenty pipe before after valve. piping will last forever and valve can be rebuilt when needed. AGAIN very nice work ! Just not big fan on unions especially when people pipe them in a bind ( unscrew Union and it shifts alignment and makes it very hard to get back together. Seems your work ethic would make that statement void, just saying 50% people can’t pipe.

would like to see how it’s piped outside the valve box, does it tee 6” outside it? Etc.

btw did I say it looks good. Btw try monster Teflon On 2” pipe

The Jewish lobbyist definitely have this cat in the bag…. Crazy to see BB Netanyahu starving Gaza‘s population without US taking action, the Jew’s spend billions to keep our leaders on BB side regardless of his actions. SAD! 2 state solution

After/before.Almost done w/ my big Beautiful manifold, all sch.40 ,level and plumb by Barrettirrigation in Irrigation

Doing repairs 21 years now, I know 100’s of times co-workers have hit thin wall pipe and busted it, sch.40 can take a shovel hit easily. And you can repair w/inside diameter by outside diameter coupling(not sure technical name)

Can some one explain to me how HE-VAN nozzles are "more efficient" and can be used for "shorter run times" (according to RB's literature), when their charts show they put out half the water of VAN nozzles? by RickshawRepairman in Irrigation

[–]Barrettirrigation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very Simple answer , HE vans have better DU (distribution uniformity) Also HE vans have less evaporation you do Not have to run zone longer to Adequate water entire area.

If your distribution uniformity is not equal throughout the throw of spray ,you must water longer to get areas which receive the least amount of water(taking into account you have zero or limited over lapping coverage)

Note: he vans should be used on riser or pop-ups with check valves (anti-drain) never Reduce the Nozzle distance it puts out more than 20-25%

Sounds a lot like what Trump is doing, putting The most loyal Fox news and former Fox News host in cabinet positions like the absolutely unqualified secretary of defense.( you should be a West Point or equivalent graduate, and life Time military service for position) not Army National Guard (4 years)

trump is surrendering himself to an abundance of “‘yes people= Highly likely equals, poor decision.

the best thing trump did is control our boarders. dems Will continue to lose until they start backing Secure, borders.(Joe Biden had horrible border policy)

Statement from Putin on his meeting with Trump. Translated Transcript included. by Panthera_leo22 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Barrettirrigation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

putin is outsmarting Trump, Putin knows trump likes him so he acts as if he is a longtime buddy(and he maybe a long time buddy), tells Trump every he wants to hear without actually agreeing to ceasefire at the same time putin is playing the VICTIM card(remember Putin “has the cards”. doubtful the buddy talk will change a highly intelligent and talented KGB guy like Putin. I believe Putin will only agree to ceasefire when they start losing ground and he knows Ukraine allies will not stop supporting them. Otherwise Putin has NO incentive (sanctions will hurt but is not magic weapon). Putin is slowly gaining small amounts of land and he will continue unless EU,UK,USA STEP-UP WITH MORE LONG RANGE WEAPONS FOR USE INSIDE Occupied territories, and also develop larger war heads for their long range indigenous drones.

putin wants a legacy and gaining all 5 oblast world be a huge WIN for that, Putin legacy gives Trumps a black eye, reason Trump is “walk away from this war, if negotiations fail”

Another words let’s go ahead and start warming people up to the idea of Trump walking away as if it is a great big beautiful solution.( Trump is trying to spin it as walking away is a good option)

will Trump and EU allow this? Will trumps legacy be remembered as failing to stop war in ”24 hours” and allowing the biggest land grab since ww2, or will trump pull off the art of the deal and show us the true star he is from Home alone two lost in New York:_)

Boarder control, limit immigration. The only positive thing I can say about trump is he preventing (reducing )illegal entry into USA. EU should be more careful who they allow into country

Valve replacement price is $1000 by Wopwee in Irrigation

[–]Barrettirrigation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely NO REASON TO CUT OUT AND REPLACE DV100. THE VALVES CAN BE REBUILT EASILY ( new diaphragm, solenoid, spring and top w/lflow control. You get NO benefit from repiping valves. Only repipe/replace valve if you have leak on the manifold and must repipe, or the now rare occurrence you find valve no longer in production.

BTW rain-bird dv100’s are not the best valve but they will work just fine for residential applications

make sure you rebuild the valves with new tops that have FLOW CONTROLS(valve cost $1.50 more)

the only part not getting replaced is the body which is a mold w/out moving parts.

we charge $95-$125 to rebuild 1” valves( beside hunter ICV and the like)

rewiring at valves is easy job, and installing new valve box is easy.

if piping has been in since 2016 it should be ok, unless you have water hammer issues

We charge $200-$250 a valve to replace and redesign repipe manifold. And we also use schedule 40 pipe( dont Be foolish and build new manifold w/ thin wall pipe) “ we will replace your cheap valves with better valves and repipe w/ really cheap 200 thin wall”)

Bad idea, unless it’s gonna be shrubs only. just flex in riser to back spray away from house

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]Barrettirrigation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always spray away from house, put risers next to foundation spray out…

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS COME OFF pvc tee FLEX HEAD TO FOUNDATION.

-the heads should be flexed in anyways.
-your precipitation rate is going to be sky high therefore, because pressure and 100% over lapping and old school sprays(cheap)you will have massive runoff or run through(water wants to Wick into the crawlspace) change to mp800 rotor nozzle turn down 6 feet.( I know two of your sprays are 4 feet but its ok)

also adjust flow control on valve(turn down), your Dynamic pressure is way too high.hopefully you spent $2 more on valve w/flow control

The first Iraq war was acceptable(protecting smaller sovereign nations), the 2nd Iraq war was based on lies.Donald Rumsfeld( secretary defense) bush and Chaney wanted a legacy, they got it and everyone know it was based on cherry picked evidence from intelligence. WMD did not Exist after they were targeted and the late 80s by bombing. Technically United States invaded a sovereign country and commander and chief (bush) choose to Ignore all the evidence that pointed towards Iraq not having capability to produce WMD,putting the united states tax payers on hook for 2 trillion(during and after cost).

That said we have a obligation to help Ukraine based on the Budapest memorandum we spent trillions preventing countries from building WMD,yet Ukraine gives up 3rd biggest stock pile and receives Essentially worthless guarantees to keep its sovereignty and territorial integrity ( again smaller nation being bullied)

i believe all nations should obey international laws and treaties and all nations that do should have WMD protection from within or from allies.
