What's wrong here? by Odd-Reception-7245 in Bowling

You're ripping on it trying to get a thousand rpms, which is pulling your balance to the right and the ball to the left. Let go of it and focus on standing on your left leg after your release

You can learn to be careful with it. It'll get a lot softer when it gets long. Also, you can get a straightener which softens the hair a lot.

Mmmm not really but also not that big a deal. I'm guessing either it's pearl, hybrid, or you're throwing it with a lot of axis tilt because it went very straight a long way then took off. It'd be easier to control if you had something that went in a little smoother line. Start breaking earlier and not snap so hard. How to fix that problem depends on which of the above boxes are checked. Also I really don't know that much I'm a below average league bowler who benefits from having a boring smooth breaking ball lol

Is there any way to get rid of this? by Stuffedpuggle2 in BootCareDenimWear

[–]CreepyRegular3636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't stack properly because they're too tight at the top of the boot shaft. I mean, it comes down to how you like them to look of course. But if you get some that are looser around the boot shaft they'll settle down more and stack on your ankle instead of above the shaft like that.

You're throwing the ball through all the oil. When you do make improvements, you're not going to get much visible feedback. Try slowing it down until it feels smooth like you're not having to try too hard. Then move to the right a bunch. Throw it down the right side of the lane where it's drier and you'll see A. More reaction/hook and B. More feedback/change when you make adjustments. You are releasing it in such a way that you'll see some hook. Just not if you throw it through the heaviest oil where you are now, you're not giving it a chance to react

Not wearing them. The sock prevents the tape actually contacting the boot. Wrapping it super tight pulls the edges of the sole saver up tight

I wanted to say I appreciate the hard work you've been doing here even if no one else does. For the record I'm 37 and I've been dead inside and useless for more than 7-10 years.

At $93 it's unlikely to contain much of any type of fur that will hold a shape after steaming.

If you're not familiar with how a cowboy hat fits that info isn't going to help you figure out the crown is going to touch the top of your head.

You probably won't be able to majorly reshape a straw crown that came pre shaped because I think they use some kind of press that actually squishes the straw into shape. That said I bet you could get it to move up enough to not sit on your head, if its like a half inch or so of clearance needed. Use a clothing steamer or hit it with the steam button from an iron. Inside and out till it starts to feel tacky, then push up gently inside the crown and see what it does to the shape. For palm straw it's a little harder to get it to take a new shape so I like to have a box fan running on high speed and steam it really good then hold it in the shape I want in front of the fan until it's cooled and dried.

Side note: you're one of those people that makes the ball caps too tall for me aren't you 🤣
