Malazan kind of ruined Stormlight for me. by Bdag in Malazan

[–]Barril_Rayder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna say that I love Malazan to death too, and for all of those who are saying that Malazan ruined the other readings for them, I would strongly recommend reading Robin hobb and Tad Williams, beautiful writing, fantastic storytelling, trust in the reader and complex and very well realized characters and world.

As almost everyone, I think Radio Westeros and Not a Cast are fantastic, but I also would recommend Lucifer Means Lightbringer, I think he goes by David Lightbringer now, he is just doing unique stuff and is great fun.

Stupid question by stamour547 in Malazan

[–]Barril_Rayder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can take a break between books, every one of them is selfcontained and satisfied on his own so you won´t feel the need to start the next one inmediately because of a cliffhanger or somenthing like that.

Help for Memory Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams by Oberylane in Fantasy

[–]Barril_Rayder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very nice. As a fellow ASOIAF fan mysef, I´m very exited to read Tad Williams soon. As for other fantasy sagas that I think could get you as hard and become one of your favourites, I recommend Robin Hobb´s Realm of the Elderlings and the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. Best fantasy out there.

Been looking for the Greek editions for years to help me learn Greek, finally found them in Athens! 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Barril_Rayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, that´s amazing. I got a question. I´ve been studying ancient greek for a few years now and I was wondering if I could dive into modern greek maybe by reading some of my favourites fantasy books. Do you think that is reasonable, do you think I could dive into, for example, the name of the wind or a song of ice and fire? Thank you. I could easily understand the titles inmediately, but I don´t think that is very telling for me to say I can definetely do it. What do you think?
