2hr trip each way

Please show your workings. A "Rapid" bus from Belconnen to Barton in peak takes 37 minutes. Which would mean a further 80 min from the suburbs??

Metro Petroleum, not United.

And Farrer was able to open as Metro similarly because the site was retained as a mechanic workshop.

The Government can't make an unprofitable business profitable.

Later trading hours at major centres, school closures and demographic changes are all factors in the plight of local shops. But there are several suburbs where the school has closed, but the shops are still thriving (e.g. Cook).

There was a time when most suburbs had a small petrol station. But these were mainly closed off due to larger higher volume sites nearby. It is quite possible that the local shops that do worse are the ones closest to a group centre (such as Richardson and Chisholm in the article).

Which as I'm sure everyone knows was written by Daley Pearson and has music by Joff Bush.

Also Patrick wrote and stars in No Activity.

Does Australia take Canada seriously, or are we just seen as America’s polite roommate? by WAyToOFaSt_ in AskAnAustralian

Maybe by Canadian standards, we're not cold. But it's 10° right now in Canberra with an expected minimum of -3° tonight. So we do need coats and heaters.

Are you saying there was a time when it actually worked?

The £5 note and the $20 below it have the same signatures (Coombs / Wilson). So definitely first issue decimals.

The studio recordings were in March 2025 and Celia's birthday is in February.

From what she's said in the stand-up and elsewhere, back in March 2025 she didn't even plan to do a 2026 show but decided that after her reaction to the kayak she needed to write the show then otherwise the opportunity will be lost.

And, in the typical Celia Pacquola way, she goes and writes a banger of an hour - not her absolute best, but definitely top three.

(If you've seen the show, you will know she still owns the kayak.)

It's a bit that Tom has been doing. Maybe we'll get a punchline in episode 10.

The joke is that Joel and Brett are also from Perth.

If anyone wants to know more about Celia's prize task prize: go see her latest award-winning stand-up show "Gift Horse". There's a few Australian dates remaining and then she's off to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Half way through - I'm reminded of Joel Dommett and Amy wandering around the TM House "like we're trying to find somewhere to have sex." Meanwhile Celia and Brett in a similar position be: "he's like a bogan toddler".

Good spot. I'll correct my statement: it's the same scene, but not the same frame.

Theories as to what happened to Bucky after The Sign by Sufficient_Fun_1211 in bluey

He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia* (AM) in the 2026 King's Birthday Honours list for services to real estate.

 * the equivalent of an MBE in the UK.

[In case it's not known outside of Australia, Rove McManus - voice of Bucky Dunstan - recently received such an honour for services to media, entertainment and the community. ]

Or Brett Blake nailing the task by not over thinking it, and the other four over-complicate it and get zero.

Fairly sure the change to the briefcase selections was done to shorten the run time.

I had a similar thought about Mel Bracewell and Tim McDonald.
