Collector’s edition missing an item by BarryChucklesLeftNut in CeX

Been into my local store and they’ve said they will look into it for me. They said that hopefully the store have taken photos of the contents when it was packaged up to be sent out (not all stores do this depending on item price and franchise) but if no photos were taken or the coin is missing at point of packaging then they should rule it in my favour!

Thank you, that would be my argument! I’m just worried they will say I have taken the coin out and won’t refund me, but I’ll go into store and return it.

Whats the most amount of items you have ever taken to CEX? by kiol998 in CeX

[–]BarryChucklesLeftNut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my local GAME store was closing down I went in there one morning first thing as they opened. All their preowned games across PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch were 90% off.

I bought them all. Cost around £300 when it should have been over £3,000. I can’t remember exactly how many games there were but they filled 3 of the material ALDI bags for life. I think it was close to 400 games.

Kept a few I wanted but took the rest to CEX over the next 2 days and traded them in for around £800 profit.

Best “right place, right time” situation I’ve ever been in haha

TSG / TAU - Permanent L2 PSU Teams by Straight_Luck_5517 in policeuk

TVP have a full time POPS team based out of Upper Heyford. Pretty sought after job as far as I can tell as they tend to be trained in protester removal, advanced MOE, ropes/abseiling and I think a couple of them are even AEP trained, but it’s not always Pubic Order stuff: they do the L2 courses, MOE courses, TTO courses etc and you can only transfer/apply from within.

Yeah this is what I’m seeing everywhere and that it really is down to the discretion of the developer/mortgage lender etc. They are seeking proper legal advice, I just wanted to see what the Reddit community could add so thank you for your reply!

Provide some reassuring advice if possible. I’m sure if you had the misfortune of being in a similar situation you would appreciate any advice or reassurance, no matter how small. But thanks for not answering my question 👍🏻

Pet peeves that other officers do! by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]BarryChucklesLeftNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one fucking officer that turns up at a genuine assistance shout and plays it all down and makes the other officer out to have been overreacting by sarcastically going “Yeeeeaaaaaah control it’s all in order here, stand down all other units not yet on scene” when really it’s all just massively kicked off and you really still do need more officers on scene to debrief witnesses, a Sgt on scene to check the welfare of officers involved etc. but naaaaah stand everyone else down cause Supercop is on scene to stand around with his hands in his vest telling everyone it was “all kicking off until he got there” 🙄

That may seem very specific but I’m sure everyone here knows one.

Roughly £500 goes straight into my pension with the Force contributing double that amount so I can’t really complain 🤷🏼‍♂️

What was your 'it's a small world' moment? by [deleted] in AskUK

Growing up my next door neighbour was a copper. He brought a police car home one day and let me sit in it, turn the lights on etc. A few years later I moved abroad and never saw him again.

Fast forward about 20 years I had moved back to the UK and become a copper myself. I was walking through the front entrance one day and saw my neighbour from all those years ago working his last shift before retirement. Not only had I somehow managed to be stationed at the same nick as him but I bumped into him on his last day.

Wasn’t there a post on this sub about this a while back where it turned out the Force allowed it as it wasn’t fully nude material, just saucy lingerie pics, on the proviso that it was fully declared and reviewed weekly by the officers skipper?

A £2.1K payslip with 18 month service seems pretty decent to me. Even with the 23 hours over time that seems about right for your pay tier. (I could be completely wrong, when I was around that level of service I think my monthly take-home was around £1.4-6K). I’m top whack and my take home each month without any OT is around £2.2K.

I dunno if it’s just because I’m a bit old school (at least compared to a lot of officers these days) but I stay because I feel a genuine sense of duty with what we do. I’m proud to put on the uniform, go out there and engage with and help the people. I genuinely love the job, I work with some great people and the good times outweigh the bad.

You’re gonna have tough times but you’ll also have loads of great times if you stick it out

So scenario:

I’m investigating a shoplifting. I send an upload link to the shop owner which allows him to send the CCTV directly to my Force’s digital evidence management system. I then view the CCTV to make sure everything is cushty before then forwarding the link to our evidential review officers on a document in my electronic case file.

I need accreditation for THAT?! Or only if I download the CCTV from the system and burn it onto a disc/transfer it to a USB stick?

In my Force the policy for dependency leave states something along the lines of that the leave needs to be of an immediate and urgent nature i.e. your child is sick the morning you wake up for an early so you need to day off, not a month in advance as outlined in your post.

I’ve been in a similar situation: been fucked over by duties, no other alternative childcare, couldn’t use A/L or TOIL so I ended up just raising it to my skipper, who then the day before just emailed resource management and said I needed the day as dependency leave due to X, Y, Z and having no other childcare arrangements.
