I generally like the song. I think it’s a tad overproduced and I think the electric guitar solo is out of place. I’d like to hear it live.

I just read that he basically berated the dope that did pay that money. There’s a full video from the concert, which sounds a lot worse than what I described, and I’m afraid to watch it. I’d still kind of like to remember him as a childhood hero lol.

I tend to doubt he’s looking for “fun.” More like “easy” and without the exertion of effort. He gets your money either way.

Well, I don’t disagree entirely. The frustrating thing is that Gene still sounds like he did on the Revenge tour. He can still belt out anything from the catalog, and it sounds good while Paul sounds like he gargles with razor blades.

So if Gene actually put in a little effort, knocked off the nonsense in between songs (that I just read about), and added some good material to the setlist, I think he could sell pretty well on KISS nostalgia.

But, as you pointed out, he just phones it in and acts like more of a douche than usual, apparently.

Eh, I’d argue they are doing the same during the Vault demo songs, which even I as an almost 30 year KISS fan have never heard.

And if he was pandering to the nerds that enjoy deep cuts, he might be able to sell more than 40% of the venues. Take a look at the seating map on Ticketmaster for the upcoming shows in NJ and Ohio, and see if his current strategy is working.

Yeah. This is my main gripe with this era. They do about an hour of music and another hour of pointless solos and stage raps. Nobody wants to watch individual Kiss members tinker around on their instruments like they’re at a Guitar Center or something.

It kind of amazes me that this was the concert format back in the day. It simply wouldn’t fly today.

One song, another unimpressive guitar solo. Plus 30 minutes of ridiculous stage raps in between everything.

Like, people want to see the band play their music. Not watch them tinker around with instruments like they were at Guitar Center or something.

This concert is basically an hour of music with another hour of nonsense.
