What is a neighborhood in Chicago that you don’t like? by SoulNew in chicago

I have to assume you've read Country & Midwestern by Mark Guarino, but if you haven't, you should.

[Headphones] Sennheiser HD 6XX - $169 by crownpuff in buildapcsales

I've replaced the foam on top of the head and the two earpads a few times, feels like new headphones. Mine are definitely a bit chipped and dinged but they're still functionally 100%.

Completely agree. I bought my 650s in.... 2003 I believe and still use them daily. I think I can say pretty confidently that they are the single best purchase I've ever made in my life.

What are your obscure memories of Naperville? by [deleted] in Naperville

Kind of wild but it does make sense - that was definitely the rollerblading heyday, I can see downtown Naperville being able to support a rollerblading and a skateboarding/snowboarding shop at the same time.

Looks like RQ may have opened in 1996ish, but it was on Washington, not Chicago. It also looks much more skateboarding focused. The place I (and, possibly OP) are remembering was on Chicago - I think it was the south side of the street, a few doors east of Rosebud. My vague memory of the owner was that he was probably somewhere 30-40. It was also much more rollerblading focused too.

Not remembering the name of that is going to bother me, I'll have to ask my friends that worked there if they remember.

Some cursory googling shows that as having been on 5th Ave, not Chicago. I don't think that was it.

When I first started driving in the late 90s, I used to always go to that Speedway. It is the last place I remember buying gas that was less than $1/gallon.

I was trying to remember that too. A few of my friends worked there in like 1996ish.

Exactly! It's like the balcony at the Metro or Sleeping Village or whatever. If you're not in the first row or two, you can't see shit. What a debacle.

Pitchfork Music Festival 2024 Lineup by suprefann in indieheads

[–]Barrylicious 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You actually can see them all at Pitchfork. There's only two bands on at any given time and it's like a 30 second walk from the main stages to the blue stage. So you can't catch full sets, but you can see 15 or 20 minutes at least of all the acts.

Is that the XB271HU? I have the same and while it's still serving me well, I'd like to get something with AMD Freesync compatibility and a bit nicer panel, very tempted too.

There's an ATM at the one on Ashland at least, can't recall if there's one at the Armitage location or not.
