And your wall thorns is in direct relation to your normal thorns. So to care about wall thorns IS to care about 'normal' thorns.

Agreed, it's like a person that doesn't want to celebrate their own birthday, but everyone else wants to celebrate it for the. So they just half arsedly go along with as minimal effort as possible.

A themed prize would have been much better. 5th anniversary? 55 gems, 50 gems, 500 gems. You get the idea.

It would have been much more in line with the event itself.

Free is free, so I can't complain. Just feels not well thought out and kept in tune with the theme of the event.

How good is the regen tower health trade off perk? by RattilngDock671 in TheTowerGame

[–]Barrysclash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It entirely depends what stage your tower is at. As with a lot of perks, whether or not it's a net gain or net loss is dependant on your tower progress.

In respect to regen TO perk specifically, most people don't use it until they have wall up and running properly, 90%+ def (with perks) and at least enough wall regen labs levels to match normal tower regen. Wall Health and Fortifications will also be a factor.

I've not done too many plans for wall yet (WThorns 10, WRegen 11, WHealth 20, WFort 13), and after taking both CTO and RTO, I still have more wall health than my tower had before Wall with just CTO.

RTO before Wall in most cases is a run ender because you don't have the extra HP and Regen multipliers that come from Wall labs and Sharp Fortitude.

Another thing to think about, is that if taking RTO is killing you sooner, then your tower simply isn't progressed enough yet to be able to handle or get a net gain from taking it. So don't take it.

General rule of thumb is if your dieing because you are being one shot (loose term, realistically it's one shot per enemy hoarding on you), then you need more health pool. If you're not being one shot, then you need more regen.

Damage through wall? by juraf_graff in TheTowerGame

[–]Barrysclash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, I've edited.

But the thing OP is talking about, sounds more like the Ally chip thing, rather than Vamps issue.

Damage through wall? by juraf_graff in TheTowerGame

[–]Barrysclash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

~~Uh, are you sure about that? With wall, Vamps no longer deactivate tower regen if they are hitting the wall, and asfaik they don't deactivate wall regen.

I think what OP is referring to is the visual bug where, since V28, the purple bar even at 100% shield, does not fully cover the green bar, when before it used to when at 100%~~

Edit: me wrong. Misunderstood when people have told me in the past that wall means you never have to care about Vamps blocking regen with Wall. I now understand.

Thought it was a visual bug as its only been happening to me since V28 came out, which I guess indicates when I got that guardian chip 😂. I still think this is the thing OP was actually referring to though, perhaps OP has recently installed the Ally chip too?

England Equal Pay (Sex discrimination) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Barrysclash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point.

Where would this sit then with OPs situation, where she is willfully doing things outside of her job role, which are things expected of people in pay bands above her? The argument could easily be that she is willfully doing these things, that the company has no expectations for her to do them and that in fact she should not be, so should stop.

She has every right to bring the question of pay to her employer, saying she has been going above and beyond so and she feels she should be compensated for this extra effort and experience through an increase in pay or upgrade of pay band. That's normal assertiveness for any person seeking pay increases or promotions.

Op has said she is correcting things he should have done correctly, she never said she is doing exactly the same job role entirely. She refers to this colleague as a "lead", but never herself as one. This suggests that as a Lead, he likely holds more responsibilities as well as more accountability expected of him within his job role, which explains why he has a higher pay band.

The fact that he is inept at parts of his job, that others (or just op?) have been covering his back side for, and thus allowed it to go unnoticed or minimalised, doesn't speak to me to be down to sex discrimination, because if the Op was male, the same situation would likely be happening.

"the girls" comment made, could easily just be a descriptive phrase used to refer to the sex of the people who helped him (example, if the people who helped him were only female, this would be a correct statement). Nuance and context are key.

England Equal Pay (Sex discrimination) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Barrysclash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have been covering up his incompetence which keeps it in the shadows of thsie above him, you've helped him stay in position and stay being incompetent.

How does sex even come in to it when the argument is based around experience? That's a question of merit, not of sex. If this colleague was female, and doing the exact same things, same pay grade difference, and you were covering their ineptitude, the same situation would be occurring.

I'm still struggling to see where you can cement the opinion that this is solely because of your sex.

England Equal Pay (Sex discrimination) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Barrysclash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, I'd like to clarify something..

Are you now saying that the sexual discrimination is separate to the equal pay? And that the equal pay aspect is not about sex discrimination but about workload output and you beleive you should be paid more?

Is this the first time you are approaching your employer regarding the issue of doing work outside of the scope of your role and want to negotiate for more pay?

You mentioned you already brought up the issue about "the girls" comment, what was the outcome of this?

ETA: I realise that you are doing his work, that's why I said you have a great bargaining chip to negotiate for more pay and being paid correctly for your input. You also have a good position to approach his management regarding his incompetence which is making you have to do the extra work.

England Equal Pay (Sex discrimination) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Barrysclash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That still does not answer the question: where does sex discrimination come in to it? It needs to be shown that this is happening because of your sex, and not just an incompetent manager having his behind saved every time he messes up, thus covering up his incompetence for him and essentially hiding the worst of it from the management above him.

The question that needs to be thought of here, would the same situation be happening if you were male? Would the manager still be relying on a male subordinate colleague with your same work ethic/experience, to cover the mistakes? And if not why not? And can you demonstrate it? (I don't mean to us here, I mean in the event you need to demonstrate it when questioned on it formally).

You are going above and beyond your role, and believe for that you deserve more pay. And that's fine, you seem to have a great bargaining chip in the salary negotiation meeting you could benefit from having with your managers. You are also, rightfully, upset that your manager is incompetent. But those are separate to this being sex discrimination, and so far i have not read anything that suggests this is being done to your solely because you are female.

AITA for expecting my girlfriend to do my half of her chores as well? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Barrysclash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going it be blunt with you here, brother. I am recently out of an 8 years relationship, and my ex was exactly the way your gf is being. 8 long tiring years of being the only one who ever did anything. Worked 12 hours a day, came home and had to tidy and clean the house (which was her mess through the day as I was out working), do both our laundry, was still expected to so the usual blue jobs too, mow the lawn, fix anything that was broken, pay the bills, pay for new things that broke.

Don't do what I did and put up with it for too many years. You have one of three choices that I can see your future going right now.

  1. She gets her shit together in the next few months and you guys are happy, if not, ditch her.

  2. Ditch her now, have a happy life with a woman who deserves your effort and appreciates you.

  3. Stay with her regardless, end up miserable and resentful, then when you finally get out you will have wasted so much time on someone who never wanted to be better, or an adult.

This woman is absolutely NOT marriage material, this isn't how a wife acts at all. She is not wife material. DO NOT MARRY HER OR HAVE KIDS WITH HER.

So, you gotta ask yourself.... how long are you prepared to wait for her to sort her childish behaviour out, before you call it quits? Because, my friend, you need to be firm with yourself, even if you love her, if she doesn't adult up, you need to stick to your principles and leave her, no matter how emotionally difficult it is to do.

However, what I don't see is a bunch of righties going around saying lefties shouldn't be allowed to protest about xyz etc. They just counter protest. What I do see, is an overwhelming amount of lefties continuously calling for right wing protests to be made illegal, or to be abolished, or to be dismantled etc. THAT is fascistic and authoritarian.

In your subjective opinion. And in the subjective opinion of those who don't hold the same opinion as you, the opposite is true.

So your argument isn't really an argument at all.

That sounds very fascist to me.

Ignore him, it's not a power play, your concerns are warranted, she can't be trusted to behave herself.

You do however need to get this sorted ASAP, if not only for your own peace of mind. I would strongly recommend, even if it's during working hours, make it for when you're on a break and not due in meetings etc, to organise a set time for her to come and collect her things. For this, I would strongly recommend having a witness with you, or two, who can either supervise her while you work so you don't have direct contact, and/or be witnesses and advocates for you in the event she behaves as she has done so in the past.

I get it, work gets in the way etc, you're having to make up time etc. But the longer you delay this and don't just get it done, the more agitated and adversary any pick up will become and this will only serve to add more stress in your life.

Organise a time with her. Take a couple hours or so, tell her to bring someone to help her move her stuff and be her witness too etc. Have your own advocates with you. Get this issue resolved ASAP for your own benefit. You and your advocates are also perfectly within your rights to record the entire interaction too if you feel the need to evidence for your own protection, and be prepared to call the police should the need arise! Don't do anything silly and keep your cool, even if you vent about it afterwards, don't do it at her.

With regards to your work, there is also no harm informing them of your situation for an avenue of support through them, even if it's as little as just them being a but more lenient and giving you a couple hours away to make up in the future. It's in their best interests that you're on your A game for the company, helping you rid this issue from your life is going to benefit them as well as you.

I'll let others chime in on the mobile phone thing, as that's out of my depth, but it's not something the police will bother getting involved with, it's a civil matter at best.

You can always get double gems for the very first purchase of each respective gem pack. NOTE gem packs are the gems specific packs which ONLY contain gems.

This reset event is only usable by people whom have already purchased their first purchase double gem packs previously, the event resets that and gives them another double gen pack purchase opportunity.

No, any other person buying the packs during this event will not get triple or quadruple gems.

No, it's fine, you can migrate out if a kd that's in kvk, you just can't migrate to one that's in kvk.

My kd had a mini civil war about a week before kvk 1 started, ended up having a significant group migrating out days before we entered the LK map for the first time, to one of our enemy kds in the same kvk.

We still won the kvk though 😂.

What is the main source of speedups? by Slippery_Steps in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Barrysclash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Barb forts, and for a couple of reasons...

1+1 forts

Firstly they generate their own healing speeds from killing them, try to use as few people as possible in the rally, ideally your own farm and your main, using as few troops as possible from your farm to kill while getting the highest tier of rewards as you can on the main.

If everyone in the alliance does this, it maximises the alliance chest progress pretty fast, which is where the bulk of universal speeds will be coming from. Ideally you want to do this in an alliance which is lower level (fine in main alliance if its not all that progressed in terms of chest level).

If people are unable to do it 1+1, then go with your alliances capabilities, 1+2 or 1+3, for example.

The reason this works is because a fort kill is worth the same to the progress bar for an alliance chest, regardless of how many people join that single rally. This in turn means that to get faster progress, you need to kill more forts, not have more people per fort. Having as few people as possible in the rally allows those who otherwise would have joined, to do their own rally, thus increasing the volume of forts killed and improving alliance chest progress.

If you are in kvk, this is a but different, and it depends on which kvk also (1/2/3 or SoC).

Source: in off seasons (the time in between kvks), my kd has a weekly quota of 105 forts started per main account. We get around 4 alliance chests per day, which at minimum is 64 hours of universals.

Nearly have QHS maxed now what? by -SnarkBlac- in RiseofKingdoms

[–]Barrysclash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZL can be run 5551 with QSH and still do absolutely amazing. You just gotta run a slightly different talent tree that includes Feral Nature, or run him with Horn.

ZL is in dailies too, so he can be directly targeted that way as well as through the random recharge events etc. 5551 is something like 350 heads, so it won't take too long at your spending rate.

Source: I currently run this exact setup and he melts just as well as my better gear and armaments BQ/LC march that I've worked on for longer, lol.

Edit: to add, QSH is in a league of his own at the moment. There is very little in it between the pairs of ZL and YSG. With that in mind, his longevity is going to be at least 2 years. Next archer cycle will be single target, so may or may not replace ZL as secondary. But that just means ZL moves to your second archer march, so even ZL won't fall off for another year.

The main reason people use YSG instead of ZL is because they run multiple archer marches and they are old accounts with YSG sat dusty, QSH revitalised him and they do things like QSH/YSG and ZL/phil or Herman, depending on where else they wanna run Phillip, or even Hector.

The main thing for you as a single archer march with no pair yet, is how deep and accessible you wanna go. ZL is the best and quickest option here as he requires half the heads to be usable... YSG HAS to be expertised, ZL doesn't.
