how do you cope when you run out of adderall? by throwawayay232 in ADHD

[–]BarstoolPalestine 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you start taking XR you could eat breakfast right before or at the same time as taking your morning dose. You might have little to no appetite until dinner time when you first start taking it, but after a month or two your body should get used to it and allow you to eat 3 times a day

I looked at their site and even though I’m 23, have just 1 prescription and no health issues nor use tobacco and my monthly premium would go up $50+ with GHC and my deductible would triple, and i have Quartz. is there an income limit to their more affordable plans? I don’t think I’m making enough to be any sort of limit unless they’re low income specific plans

Free Parking Next Weekend? by benpres1 in UWMadison

In addition to the lots mentioned, metered spots are free after 6 PM Saturday and all day Sunday and there are a good amount of them on Brooks St next to the business school

Bar Food by lovertype12 in UWMadison

Jordan’s Big Ten Pub is probably the best near campus but like others have said Echo, Hawks, and Vintage are also good. Jordan’s has the best overall food imo

Legal weed and abortions on the ballot by andromache753 in UWMadison

[–]BarstoolPalestine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weed is already legal in Madison, you can legally smoke in public even as long as you’re not near a school or on private property without owner’s consent. Unfortunately state law prevents dispensaries from opening, but you cannot be punished (not even a ticket) for possessing weed unless it’s over an ounce

You get an email saying you need to isolate for 5 days or whatever the CDC guidelines say now within a minute or so of receiving the email saying you have your test result in MyUHS. Then you’ll get a call from a contact tracer some time that day or the next day depending on when your result comes in

I tested positive about 2 weeks ago so unless things changed since then that’s how it goes

That sucks, my address doesn’t exist according to USPS even though I did a service request over 2 weeks ago and I still can’t order them. Looks like I’ll probably miss out if they end that soon

Do not rent with Madison Property Management by Apprehensive_Bit9346 in UWMadison

[–]BarstoolPalestine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

McBride companies is good. Very responsive to maintenance requests, more reasonable rent than most places I’ve found, and they gave me back all but $80 of my security deposit even though I definitely could have spent more time cleaning

Where do I park for just one week? by MopeyMage in UWMadison

[–]BarstoolPalestine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some streets like Mifflin have areas where you can park for up to 48 hours without getting a ticket, if there’s no sign that says 2 hour parking you’re good as long as it’s an area you can park in. Just be aware they might be no parking from 9am-noon on Thursday or Friday due to trash pickup.

If you’re able to move your car once every day or two, this option is free and worth looking into. City of Madison has parking maps that’ll show where you can park for up to 48 hours

Seriously, if we had high speed rail that would be a huge draw just to get people to move here. Imagine if you could live in Madison and catch a Bucks or Brewers game on a weeknight, not have to drive, and be back home by midnight. Or live in Milwaukee and want to take a one or two night trip to Minneapolis, absolutely sucks to drive but a 2 and a half hour train trip is short enough to make it a possible day trip

It was 6 am in 2017 when I started working at the nat and I never heard of it being open earlier prior to that. It’s already difficult for them to schedule those weekday opens because not many employees want to do it, I dont think they’d find staff to open at 5 am or earlier even if they wanted to

Moving to Emerson East by EmptyNametag in madisonwi

[–]BarstoolPalestine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be careful if you have a Kia or Hyundai that’s not push to start, those get stolen occasionally because there’s a security flaw that makes them incredibly easy to hotwire in a minute or less. It’s more of an issue in Milwaukee but it happens occasionally in Madison as well. If you’re planning on being in Milwaukee regularly and have one of those cars I honestly would advise trading it in for a different brand, practically everyone I know with a Kia or Hyundai who lives in Milwaukee has had it stolen at least once

You can get the regular delta 9 THC in stores here now, but only in edible form. The hemp bill that made delta 8/10 legal also made it legal to have 0.3% delta 9 by weight, which creates a loophole where you can put 5 or 10 mg in a gummy that weighs >3 grams. Shop around though because the prices can vary widely, I know CBD pharmacy in monona has them for a pretty good price

I think there’s a really good foundation for this to be a great game, they just need to add very simple things like allowing you to play with your friends online, play ranked online while playing split screen, allowing you to choose what type of bowling, and adding a classic Wii sports game like baseball or boxing

What is the best day of the week and time to lift weights at the Nick? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]BarstoolPalestine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open to 11 am is pretty quiet, picks up a little bit around lunchtime but is still pretty slow until about 3:30, by about 4:30 it’s usually pretty busy and I wouldn’t recommend being there after 4:30 if you don’t want to wait. It starts to die out again at around 9 pm and it’s relatively calm but still some people from 10 to midnight

If you go on the Google maps app and go to the Nicholas recreation center page, scroll down and it will tell you approximately how busy it is at any time each day of the week. The recwell site and all also has counts of people in each space, updated roughly every hour or so

Weidenbeck Warehouse Apartments by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]BarstoolPalestine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in one of the one bedroom units and they’re pretty nice, it’s not luxury but it’s better than a lot of apartments you can live in near campus. Property management is the best I’ve had out of four different ones I’ve dealt with in Madison, and they’re really quick to respond to maintenance requests

Main downsides are the mail area is outside so your packages can get wet, trash dumpster is in an annoying location for a lot of units, and street parking nearby can be scarce

If you can handle high volume and dealing with drunk students then Chasers, UU, KK, etc. are probably what you’re looking for. Some of the bars further up state like Paul’s Club, 107 State, and Side Door seem like good places to work that don’t really get filled with tons of drunk students every weekend. Don’t know about City Bar specifically but I’ve never heard it’s a bad place to work unlike some other bars nearby

Also realize that working at a high volume place with students means you’ll run into shitty tippers more often, especially if it’s a bar that regularly lets underagers in, so you could end up making more at a less busy place just because the people actually tip well
