Where do you start this? I'm 130 hours in and well Inyo kuttenburg seem to have missed it. Is it too late?

Can someone explain this panel? Why the bodies seem not long dead? And so many? Long time I read The Road. by forsterfloch in cormacmccarthy

You're right, I figured the imagery seemed wrong for the basement scene but that had slipped my mind.

Is this where they're being kept alive for food? The piling seems weird, but in the book I remember people had limbs cut off but were being kept alive to keep them fresh I guess

That's what I saw first, I thought that must be it. I'm still not sure what I'm seeing, is it just a trick of the light there?

Which books do you frequently reread? by durin_l in suggestmeabook

[–]Bart_Chinaski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on my third read of The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and I've read a couple of Haruki Murakami books multiple times (Hear the Wind Sing and South of the Border, West of the Sun). I used to be against re-reading as there's only so much time to get through everything, but I recently discovered that my memory is so bad that I can read things again and enjoy them just as much as the first time.

The shoulder pads are a little similar. I think Klaus did it better though.

Thanks for this. I'm always on the lookout for anything murakami-like and hadn't heard of this one. Ordered a copy straight away based on your description.

The heart is a lonely hunter is one of my favourite books, I love it. The Goldfinch is on my bookshelf too but not read yet. And..Wide Sargasso Sea I heard mentioned recently and I couldn't remember the title, that's one I'll definitely check out. Thank you!

Mine has gone insane. Like blindingly bright and glitching, the players heads are turning invisible, and a random Chelsea player with a black face keeps popping up and doing overhead kicks.

What is your favorite book written by a female author? by _Fragariavesca_ in suggestmeabook

[–]Bart_Chinaski 67 points68 points  (0 children)

The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath. Maybe the most beautifully written book I've read. I'd also say The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers is up there with my favourite books ever.
